sure - William(?)'s free-wheel riding of the bike at the end of the novel is symbolic of his new found freedom, having escaped life with his mother and been adopted by Tom. The imagery produced by this scene is particularly effective, as it is memorable and poignant to the reader, concluding the novel in a satisfying, heart-warming manner.
Etc.

I found the Life and Times of Sami Wilson particularly poignant as he pedalled and perspired through the leafy lanes of the Land of Nod before settling into his stint as resident DJ on Radio Holme-on-Spalding-Moor - less than 5 miles from his home!
