Christmas!
No more assignments or lab reports to do, just revision, then exams in January.
Has everyone started their Christmas shopping yet?

In the process of the extensive refurbishment of Chez Jayo the chimney was removed permanently. Hence no access for Santa this year or any other ......

Christmas is cancelled. The IMF are not at our door - they are in the living room. The ECB are raiding the kitchen cupboards!
Jayo reads of civil disobedience, of goosings, of no green shoots, of defaults. And Jayo thinks of the poor people elsewhere in the world. The diseases, the hunger, the poverty - the real deprivation. Jayo thinks of the disenfranchised, those wrongly incarcerated and those suffering religious and other persecutions.
And Jayo considers his own position. And Jayo realises that while things could be better they could be a lot worse. And he sees the glass half full rather than half empty. And he muses on all the good things he has in life versus those who have nowt.
And Jayo decides that Christmas has become an occasion of commercial profanity - one which has lost all its original meaning .... its spirituality.
And Jayo makes a big decision. There are those more needy, no doubt. Expensive presents are not called for, the trappings must be untrapped. Only the essentials are really needed. Everywhere you look organisations are asking for a little help this Xmas. So Jayo takes out the credit card and picks up the phone and makes the call. Safe in the knowledge that what he is about to do will make him hugely happy this Xmas.
'Hello?' ... 'Yes, I'd like to make an order please .... 8 slabs of Heineken, 4 cases of red, 4 cases of white, a couple of bottles of each of Bacardi, Smirnoff, Jameson, Jack Daniels, Southern Comfort and gin please.'
You just can't bate Tesco for home delivery!

Talking of charities, a friends friend in Swatragh was doing a fundraiser for children in South Africa, I was sitting there having few drinks and the quiz, then at the end the lad starts talking about what they were doing down there....I was sitting there thinking, I will give him £5 for it...Nope couldn't help myself...gave him everything in my pocket which was around £30. I did get a little chuffed about it after thinking how insane I was being.
