Reeling in The years
Is it just me or is this latest offering a knife in the gut
For years I would have said that this was the best thing that RTE had ever produced - It was 30 minutes of intense education and nostolgia - they key differnetaion being they never felt the need (A la every UK show) to have numerous B list celebs reminiscing about how funny the Rubix cube was.
I watched every show - remebered every clip - Guessed the All Ireland winner before the clip came up and tried to guess which poignoit natural disaster would prequel the closing sequels.
however my abiding memory is wathcing the poor Mullet, Moustache and dodgy XMAS jumper 1980 sods standing in line for the boat to Toxteth, Neesdon, Kilburn, South Boston,Queens or wherever and thinking thank Fook we never have to go through that again. It was this very image that brought a warm "hot whiskey" type glow to the cockles of the heart. - "Thank Fook this is all behind us"
What comes around goes around and now whe are being force fed nostolgia of the noughties and how good things were - All of a sudded it has become the worst programme ever conceived
Bitter Sweet - What comes around goes around etc etc
