Boxty, has the fact that something is played out ever made a difference to this person before?

Out of interest which specific part of his post do you regard as bull
Do you contend that BB is as good or better than Gooch ?

I gather from the above that you do not agree with my earlier post, however, it as as yet, a little unclear as to what to you disagree with. Below is my most post broken down into eight sentences with room to reply to each beneath. Pease copy and paste, and find fault with any sentence you wish and hopefully, we can find some equal ground with which to agree on.
Bernard FOTY, first to win either the AllStar FOTY or Texaco FOTY having not played in the All-Ireland final.
Does that say more about Bernard or the lack of top footballers on show in the Final, well I'm yet to figure.
I felt he had a very good year but being made the only outlet for which Dublin scores could come obviously made him look outstanding.
The arrival of a presence like O'Gara helped too.
As I said before, John Doyle and Dessie Dolan spent careers doing what Bernard did this year.
So its hard to say where he lies in the legion of greats.
He's no Gooch, who was my FOTY, but around the level of Stephen McDonnell or Dara O'Cinneide I'd say.
Congratulations to him on his award.

Leave Loyal alone, he is entitled to his opinion, especially about O'Gara, reproduced TWICE above. I actually agree with him.

Wasn't trying to be smart - At a quick glance the post to me suggests that Loyal is giving credit to BB and comparing him to a number of forwards who would certainly rank in the top ten in the last decade however as of yet he is not comparable with gooch who in my own opinion is by a country mile the greatest GAA player of this generation and has been year in year out for the best part of a decade.
What gooch has that no other mortal has is the ability to nearly always spot the best option - the sublime pass that takes three defenders out of the game. This is a level that in my opinion BB has not yet reached in particular some of his option selection in the last quarter versus cork would I feel support such a view.
Not withstanding this BB had a superb season and certainly was a contender for POTY and fair play to him for winning it. Anyway maybe there is an element of Loyals post or analysis that could be disagreed with or argued - counter argued - debated or disproven with facts however I would have thought classifying it as BS was somewhat of an overgeneralisation hence I was curious as to which specific point the post disageed with
That was all

A quick glance back shows that Sebastian set up the thread, 2010 All-Stars or whatever the exact title is.
Your paranoia is getting the better of you here. The post with which you took issue (Loyal's), was, I felt, more of a general overview of where Brogan stands in the overall scheme of things over the past 8/10 years.
Your failure to engage in dialogue/discussion, when the opportunity was sportingly offered, appears to confirm was has become a Dublin characteristic lately:
Lack of belief, courage, substance or a fear of getting down into the trenches and fighting for your argument.
One-liners are brilliant when you get a bulls-eye, but darts rebounding off the wire don't count...

In what was an otherwise fair analysis Mr Loyal couldn't resist his little bit of begrudgery. I didn't comment on it at the time but following the posts here supporting the analysis I think anyone who knows anything about Gaelic football will realsie that the line above was intended as the usual kick at the Dubs ....

Its a fair comment.
I assume you are happy that he got the award? And had he not, I guess you would be unhappy?
Hence, happy Hipster, happy Dubs, happy Bernard. He got the award to keep you all happy. The problem that now arises out of this hypothesis is that, you have suddenly become unhappy because I said you were happy he got the award? Maybe a return to a state of happiness means taking the award off Bernard and giving it to Cooper?

More BS from this man.
Lads I get a bit tired of mulllins and hipster defending Dublin against crap like this and then feeling the full weight of others on top of them.

Mea Culpa
I was commenting on Loyals post in relation to the POTY and Brogans standing among the greats - Did not feel my post was attempting to be smart or otherwise- Have only noticed the now highlighted point on his other post which I will freely admit I would not agree with. I certainly would or could not make any argument that Brogan would not rank amongst the top six forwards in the country this year.
Though confusion might be avoided if that was the point that was counter- argued to begin with

the comment about Brogan was posted for one reason and that was to rile you Dubs - i would have ignored it JC to be honest. For what its worth i think Brogan was fully deserving of his award.

Thats the whole point here gents. I did ignore it - others rightly took exception - and were then castigated by others for doing so ....

What do you mean by "others" and what do you mean by castigates ?
Plural words clearly mean you feel that are a number of offenders
I didn't castigate - I asked which element of the post was BS and am struggling to see where there was malice in the question. I asked the question because the post I read seemed fair rather than BS- It was then that the castigation started - When the post re "to keep dubs happy" was eventually pointed out I clearly stated that I had missed it.
Would all have been simpler if clarity had been made earlier instead of people assuming that eveyone is jumping on the anti dublin brigade - If a counter argument had been made that clearly Brogan deserved an all star well then my question would not have held water for long.
Anyway lesson for today - no point in holding your hands up on here. Better to backtrack or keep digging if your going to get accused of Bias it might be better to at least have a few cheap shots and deserve the accusation.
For clarity again - Mullins and Hipster2 - I would not have queried the rebuttals if I had spotted the wind up.

You may not have been a castigator OMAR! Wind the neck in!
I have noticed and mentioned on this site before that a couple of Dub posters regularly get jumped on for fair enough posts most of the time or genuinely held views. Yet there are a couple of posters who are clearly WUMming and trying to rankle people yet never a word is said. Today's example typical.

Fair enough - Though you did use Plural and as far as I can see Boxty is only other poster that
commented on the "rebuttals"
Anyway thats by the by -
Though to be honest
His post was not personalised the responses were - however on balance of probability I now agree that Loyals post was made with some element of mischief - maybe a better approach is to either ignore as you did or go for the weakest point of the argument - say ask the question was Brogan one of the top six forwards this year - its when the points become insults its more likely for people to "row in" behind the person that is the receiver of the insults even if derserved.
