Kevin Walsh to stay in Sligo???
Press Release
Coiste Chontae Shligigh
Senior Team Management
At a County Board meeting tonight, Monday, the Team Manager Kevin Walsh, his selectors and backroom help were ratified to remain as Sligo’s Senior Management Team for the next two years.
The proposal was accepted unanimously.
An Coiste looks forward to working once again with Kevin and his personnel as we face the new challenges of “Roinn ll” football and build on the steady progress of the last two years under their guidance.

Don't know if the big man has accepted the re-appointment or not. Word around the county on Sunday was that he was to attend this meeting himself, but no mention of it in the press release.
Hopefully this isn't one of Sligo County Board's well calculated PR-gaffes!

Ask not what your county can do for you.. Ask what you can do for your county.

Good to see that he didn't go straight for the Galway job when it became available. The loyalty will be a boost to the panel for next year too and it can only be good for Sligo.

Walsh sees the light - Mayo and Galway in the doldrums ... A Connaught very possible ... and maybe more than one.

There is a stand-off between Walsh and certain members of the county board, the type of thing you'd usually associate with Galway hurling. Whatever about Sligo, Walsh is certainly making his feelings known.

Not really. Connaught football is at an even lower ebb than normal. Walsh is not stupid. Why would he go to the disaster zone that is the Galway football team when he has a fairly average Sligo side that could win Connaught for the next 3 years or so.
