Your Favourite Songs ... and why...
As some here may know I have a very varied taste in music – with a particular penchant for the 80s – especially early 80s. I was listening to my Walkman today
well I am old. I have stuff on it from Elvis to the Beatles, the Kings of Leon, Dubliners , Rolling Stones, Killers, Stereophonics, U2, Christy Moore, Lou Reed, Nirvana, Guns’n’Roses, Red Hot Chillies, Westlife , Bowie, Queen, the Doors and a host of others.
Then a song came on called Stay by Jackson Brown. Some of you may remember it (mid 70s!!!). But this is a 9 minute version – and the ‘chart’ version doesn’t kick in til about 6 minutes. The song is actually all about roadies. The twin bro introduced it to me a couple of years back and the minute I heard it – I loved it – a rare thing!!
The original conjures up early summers ‘down the country’ and the lyrics (love lyrics me) are just excellent! Have a listen – highly recommended. Then tell us some of your favourite tracks and why – keep it (relatively) clean!

Ps RMD – did you go to that 50s night in January or were you barred cos of the Zimmer?

There is no way that I can pick.
My favourite band however is Pantera and I hate Metallica.

Depends on the mood really. I'm a rock chick who loves my Irish music roots.
NIRVANA are/were my favourite band but I also love The Fureys and Davy Arthur. I remember singng "The Whistling Gypsy" or "Kilkelly" and then the next day it would be "Lithium" or "All Apologies"

I'd mainly listen to chart music and just about anything that sounds good.

I listen to all types of stuff, old and new, mainstream and indie, a very wide spectrum of music! I honestly don't know if I could narrow down my favourite songs to a short list though, there's just too many!
