Tips and tricks for this weeks minor and under 21 clashes by GM1996 newspapers

Howya

Heres the next weeks tips including all BORD GAIS hurling Under 21 games and Minor finals. Apologies for them being a bit early but I wont be back until Wednesday going camping and therefore I have very few sources.

HURLING

WEDNESDAY 14TH JULY

7.30PM PARNELL PARK, DUBLIN. DUBLIN V WEXFORD (u21 Leinster Final)

The pressure is on the visiting team for this encounter with the Dubs in Parnell Park this Wednesday. Recently the Metropolitan County resulted in a 7 point margin beating the Cats down in the Marble city. Wexford bet Carlow in their semi final clash by 4 points but led by a 16 point margin at halftime and must be on top of their game for the sake of their manager, Tony Dempsey. Richie stakelum, The Dublin boss should be very impressed with his half back line including Peter Kelly, just about recovering from the semi final and who is a member of the dublin squad, Rory O'Carroll, The senior footballer for the dubs and also Martin Quilty who helped the men of the capital to beat Kilkenny. Wexford also hold a strong selection of their first 15 with an absolutely lethal full forward line up front with James Gahan on the square with Liam Og McGovern and Jamie Reck in the corners. Harry kehoe in the Mid field area should be a key player also in this clash. Both goalkeepers, Mark Fanning of wexford and Finn McGarry guarding the Dublin net, are very experienced and it will take the forwards and midfielders of both counties to ensure that a good few points tot up on the scoresheet. This developing and young dublin side have 7 players on both the Under 21 squad and the Senior squad of Anthony Daly. The formidable Dublin side should steer clear of the yellow bellies for this one which would be a great confidence boost to the Dubliners.

7.30 PM GAELIC GROUNDS, LIMERICK. LIMERICK V CLARE.

The Banner County whom last year won the prestigious Cross Of Cashel Trophy last year in their first ever All Ireland Under 21 Win, take on the treaty county in a bid to try and capture All Ireland Glory once again. Ace forward Darach Honan is probably the most needed player to preform here as he can guide Clare to beat Limerick in their home turf on Wednesday Evening. The 20 year old Clonlara Superstar is 6 foot 6 starred in Clare's loss to Waterford in the Munster Championship 2010 and he is lethal with a sliothar in on goal. This limerick side feature lots of youth like the posters of GT. Ruairi Shaugnessy brings a lot of pace to the field and their Goal keeper Barry Hennessy from Kilmallock also can stop bullets. Also Limerick have plenty of good forwards such as William Griffin, James O Brien and Sean Tobin. This could be an interesting encounter but judging on the strengths of Clare I would predict a clare victory against this youthful Limerick side.

Will predict the second munster semi between cork and tipp on Wednesday next. Apologies on forgetting the Minor finals in Munster and Leinster so here they are now..

SUNDAY 11TH OF JULY

2PM SEMPLE STADIUM, THURLES. CLARE V WATERFORD.

With a busy week with Clare GAA fanatics on the cards with their Seniors out the previous day and wednesday being the Under 21s in the limelight but this clash is sure to be a hard fought one. Last April was when both sides last met in the championship and thanks to the back door system, something that does not feature in Leinster Hurling, Clare meet the Deise once again. Full forward Niall Arthur From Inagh Kilnamona Club seems to be the main scorer on this Clare side and is joined by Alan Mulready and Colin Galvin to form the Full Forward line up. Waterford seem to be a very strong side, who nipped a win from cork in the replay of the semi final clash with a final score of 2-17 to 1-13, who have a very good centre forward line up including Padraic Mahoney, Eamonn Murphy and Colin Curran. Waterford seem to be the stronger side in this encounter but the faith of The Banner County could cause an upset.

12PM CROKE PARK, DUBLIN. LONGFORD V OFFALY

Well After Longford winning the Lory Meagher Cup and their Senior Footballers beating Mayo out of the championship it seems like the midlanders have had all their christmases in 1 this year however the icing on the cake would have to be a victory in this years Leinster Minor Football Championship final victory over the faithful county. But the odds are stacked against them due to their 1st round defeat against the same county by a margin of 20 points. Thanks to the back door system though, longford are available to contest the final after beating Kildare in a suprise victory by a point. Meanwhile Offaly, who according to manager Ken Kallaghan have no injury worries, should be favoured by pundits as they got to this stage by beating Laois and Meath. Noel Andrew Graham should shine the light for Offaly to guide them to their 7th Leinster title last time being won by the Faithful County in the year 1989 but never the less Longford have confidence to cause an upset.

Once again apologies for the lack of info.
