Well I feel it has been a good weekend for the GAA and definitely the football championship ... and the bookies! A pleasure to see Sligo assert themselves ... 3 Connacht titles is a joke for this county to be honest. Best of luck to them. Great to see a resurgent Wee County pull off a well deserved win over Kildare - the forwards were awesome and wasted little or nothing. Monaghan broke free of their defensive mode (personally delighted for Paul Finlay - dunno why!) and blew Armagh away .... a Farney team attacking with success - just like the late 70s and 80s. Limerick went to Waterford and won well with John Galvin majestic. And then the excitement of Killarney ... in truth the poorest game of the weekend but nerve wracking nonetheless. It'd be nice to think of a change of the world order, the old guard - but I wouldn't bank on it. As a Dub the back door is a no man's land now - win the Delaney lads please.

But this weekend Sligo. Monaghan, Louth and Limerick folk go to bed and dare to dream ... as it should be!
