Eamon McGee Quits London
From The Irish Post [online] -
LONDON’S hopes of causing an upset in the Connacht Championship next month have been dealt a huge blow with the news that Eamon McGee has unexpectedly returned to Donegal.
For weeks the talented McGee delayed making a decision on his intercounty future before declaring for the Exiles in early March.
But after just four weeks and three games in a London jersey, he has returned home to the dismay of the county’s chief selector Noel Dunning.
“Obviously I’m very disappointed. I’ve had no explanation whatsoever yet. I’ve still not spoken to him, so I’m in the dark as to why he’s gone,” revealed Dunning.
“If it’s a case that he didn’t settle, well then, fine. It’s not the first time that has happened with a player that moved to London. But it was a bit sudden; we received no warning at all. Things can change for a player, but until I speak to him I’m at a loss as to why he went home,” added Dunning.
McGee’s last act as a London player was to be sent off following a melee in Carrick-onShannon against Leitrim just over two weeks ago, and his shock and sudden departure has stunned the football community in London including the club he looked likely to line out for this season Tir Chonaill Gaels.
Pivotal to Donegal’s All-Ireland Championship campaign last summer, his impressive displays helped the Ulster County to the quarter-finals of the competition.
Eager to make his transition to London as smooth as possible, the County Board helped the player secure a position as a GAA coach in schools and The Irish Post understands they, too, are less than happy with developments.

He won't be able to link up with Donegal now until 2011, bit of a shock decision over here especially as the LCB got him a "coaching" job to boot, jobs for the boys and all that!!!
Perhaps he saw the 48 week bans dished out to the London Chairman, Sec and to the Westmeath player and decided to jump ship!
Any of our Donegal experts (or anyone else for that matter) able to shine some light on this? There's a lot of p1ssed of people in London GAA at the moment!!!

Re: Eamon McGee Quits London
I heard on Tuesday that he was coming back all right but I figured it must be to play in the championship with Donegal. If he's coming back and can't play intercounty then it's a strange one. Sounds like he didn't do a good job of explaining things to the London lads as well. Bad form if that's the case.
