Best injury you ever had ....
I've had a few but the broken wrist was the best. I broke in around the scafoid near the radiocarpal joint. All together - "All We Hear Is RadioCarpal, Radio Ga Ga," .
Anyway I digress. Twas the summer of 1991 and the combination of age and accumulated wisdom had seen me convert from speedy 6' 5" left winger to imposing (or I'm posing) cetrre half. In my younger days I was in the mould of John Terry - but my playing style was nothing like his.
It was a works league and we were playing against the National Lottery (would you believe - only break I ever got from the *******!). Ball came bouncing to me - midfielder coming at pace. Right let him keep coming - I cleared, followed through, caught his chest with my boot, flipped over his shoulder at full tilt and landed horrendously on the wrist. Cue white sheet of pain - and JC calling for a smoke!!
I had to get the ambulance to Beaumont and they gave me oxygen on the way - one of them said it was good for pregnant woman. I had a cast at first but either they made a rocks of it or I moved it when jumping off the wardrobe. The upshot was I had to spend a few days in hospital with two ould bucks from Skerries (who went to school together!) a young fella from Cavan and a young Donegal lad. I had one of those external fixators fitted and promptly changed my local to a darker pub where people would bother me less and would not ask could I get Sky on it! Wrist is mostly good now - brain injury from fall troubles me now and then though.
I was in hospital for the fourth and final Dublin-Meath game - so it was an ill wind!

This morning I really hurt my shoulder playing over-enthusiatic air guitar to David Bowie's Rebel Rebel. Think I've pulled a tendon or something

Did my ACL at soccer last night.
Can't see the specialist till next Monday so I've a week of pain and boredom facing me.
I've been blessed until now with injuries and never had anything serious.
So annoyed I can barely type.

A couple of years ago I fell off a chair because I was laughing too hard and broke my tail bone. Got some slagging for it.

Dislocated shoulder, trying something new in the bedroom, didn't quite work out as planned
Silver lining is on recovering after surgery I spent many bored weeks wondering where it all went wrong when one day all of a sudden I discovered the INTERNET and whatsmore, GAA forums where you could actually chat to other people about hurling etc online.
Just look at me now

Don't know if I would class any injury as the best but spent the best part of the age from 16-20 picking up injuries and knocks......Have sprained both wrists and every finger in my hands too many times to remember, tore ligaments in my ankle back in 2007 and it was a right bollix, spent a good few weeks on crutches, struggled with a Cartilidge problem in both my knees for about two years that still flairs up every now and then, normally in April/May when the sod starts to firm......
Fierce history of Artritis and rhumatist on the ,mothers side and I often get a pain an clicking noise in my right hip after a match or training......Have had too many small knocks, cuts and bumps to even mention.....had to start wearing a helmet full time from the age of 18 just to keep the mother off my back, hate the ****ing things

Had to be taken three times in the space of about 6 months to the A&E for stitches somewhere on my noggen.....For a finish up it was easier to just wear the helmet rather than listening to thunder......

Re: Best injury you ever had ....
I ruptured the cartilidge in my ear in 6 places playing rugby last year (cauliflower ear) and had to have surgery, fixed it up fine but the surgeon had to cut around the edge of the ear and peel the skin the entire way back, right into my ear.
And managed to put 3 vertebrae slightly out of place last week, the missus isn't overly impressed but it's worked out OK for me!

It was during the snow after Christmas... When they walked back to us and his head was bleeding we all almost died laughing, wasn't as funny as him explaining to his mam why he needed stitches though!

The Puke on the move..
Is is assumed, given his elevation to full Ministerial status, that Tony Killeen will not forget "his own" when appointing a core team of spin doctors, advisers, logistics managers, caterers etc.,
Expect the Minister to look after the South Eastern part of the county by appointing fellow forumite P, as a script writer...
Any help we can afford you Pukey, you know where we are..*
* I'll let you know about the oul' single European grant aid forms by Friday....Sound man.
