It's Dublin's to lose...
Just who can stop Dublin? I don't want to build the hype too early but the question has to be asked. Obviously huge lessons have been learned from August and applied to day. 10 new players starting and we go down to the home of the All Ireland champions and basically stuff them. We won pulling up atfer an exhibition of total football not seen since Cruyff and Co in the 70s. If this is how we are gelling on 7 Feb well God help ye all when we get fit and the Champo comes. A hostile crowd - facing the aristocrats - and we just powered them into the ground. And we don't even take the League seriously. A friend in Tralee tells me the pubs are dead in the town tonight. All the talk is that the Dubs are back - that the Kingdom's crown is gone. They have no fear of the various Northern pretenders thrown up from time to time - nor Cork - but the Dubs are the ones that bring forth the underwear change. The greatest fear a Kerryman can have - even more that death itself.
A swathe of fit, athletic and immensely skilful sky blue jerseys bearing down on them all day - teaching them how to play - how to score. Leaving them clutching shadows, gulping for air, begging for the final whistle. New jerseys - new players - new purpose - winners all!! As a Dublin supporter it is a fairly satisfying night but there is one irritation too. We're gonna have to wait a full 7 and a half months until we lift Sam ..

Indeed based on early league form the 3 front-runners for Sam are
Dublin, Mayo and Derry and surely the bookies will now install them as joint 2/1 favourites with 20/1 the rest.
It would unprecedented for these three teams to show such league or early championship potential, and I'm sure that any risk of false optimism is virtually nil
In fact if history has thought us anything its that - a good start us half the battle
I for one would be confident that it is these three teams that will actually improve even further once we hit the hot and sunny afternoons of august and September, and that we are indeed witnessing the demise of both Kerry and Tyrone.

The last time they beat Kerry was 1982-83 league.
We all know what happened in 1983.
However I think John Gough has retired so a repeat is unlikely.
Mind you, if Antrim had held out against Kerry last year, I suspect Dublin would have won Sam, because they would have beaten Antrim, Meath and not been afraid of Cork

Absolutely ridiculous. I have been on the phone to Croke Park all morning and apparently you can't book a seat for the All Ireland football final at this time!

What's the story with Mark Davoreen is he going to be back this year? He looked very promising last year before the injury.

Fennell looks a good prospect in the middle of the field good engine good fielder of the ball and most importantly can pick of a score or two.
Should be an interesting game between them and Derry

Re: It's Dublin's to lose...
If we are to have a big say in where Sam goes this year we need 3/4 players to play above themselves for the whole summer and the rest of the squad to become more consistant. Its early days yet with a lot of players to come back on to the panel. The whole team played well yesterday and it would be wrong to single out any 1 player.
This could be the year we have a new winner of Sam...

Would you draft any of those lads into the senior panel mullins? Some very promising performances there.
