I'll do my best JC but no promises. Of course the one good thing about the McKenna cup is that it gives you something to tell us all you don't care about!
There's a Donegal Down game I'll be very interested in this year however this aint it.

Tyrone lost Stephen O' Neill to what looks like a dislocated elbow - looks like we will be without him for a month or two.

Re: 2010 McKenna Cup
Fair play to Donegal on winning the Mckenna Cup, hopefully Stephen O'Neill is back soon though, very sad to read about a player being taken off in an ambulance.

Donegal retaining this does not exactly enspire any great level of exubarance given how last years victory served as such a platform for relegation and first round championship defeat.
Unfortunately all that can be said about tonight is that an insignificant match has resulted in a significant injury to a significant player. Wishing SON god speed and full recovery for championship though I am worried that it did look more serious than a 4 month setback.

Fully agree with you Rua, the McKenna Cup is only good for the Uni teams and for showing the Inter-County teams if there are any fringe players that could be good enough to play in the league.

Re: 2010 McKenna Cup
Well on a positive note for donegal, murphy and mcfadden had poor games. I work in donegal and have been hearing for the past few weeks that at the present minute taking both players out would result in complete collapse.
They aren't that far off it.
Hanlon, Wade, Walsh and McGlynn looked very good last night. Cassidy is severely over rated. He was picking up Coney who had quite a good game, getting on a lot of ball and delivering it perfectly into the forwards. He lost it quite easily in the tackle several times however.
Colm Anthony perhaps should be left on the half forward line. He won some super balls around midfield last night. He can be incredibly selfish at times and made the wrong decision frequently last night.
I see last night the ref took it upon himself to abolish the new fistpass rule. Not one free given against illegitimate handpasses. It led to an excellent free flowing firts half.
And a speedy recovery to SON. We could hear him moaning in the stands, but as we all said when he news filtered through that it was his arm we all were glad it wasn't a leg injury.

All the best to SON. Happy enough with the McKenna cup. JJ got to see a good few players and a few have shown fairly strongly (e.g. Hanlon).
