Internet Dating
I am a member of another forum and have been for some time now. I have been cyber-friendly with some of the members there and have swapped PMs from time to time. Usually I am very wary about the dangers of the internet and for instance have avoided replying to unsolicited PMs from certain quarters on this site.
However I have 'known' one of the members on the other site for about 2 years now and he has just asked to meet up after I sent him my picture, though my face was not clear. He seems a nice guy and his posts are very mannerly but how do I know for sure that he is not a mad axe murderer who will bludgeon me to death and then dismember my body and leave it in bins around Tralee or wherever we meet. He has suggested a hotel but I think he just means the bar. He says he is not married and I believe him even though he was a bit unhappy about a year ago when I sent him an email to his private address.
I am in two minds. I think it could be fun but on the other hand is it dangerous. What would you do?

Re: Internet Dating
Up to you.
It is a bit risky, but as long as you are prepared and can take care of yourself it should be ok.
Make sure you meet him in a busy/crowded public place, that way if he is a psycho people would be nearby to help.
Tell one of your close friends where you are going, when you expect to be back etc so if anything does happen someone knows where you are.

And what exactly is that supposed to mean? I don't actually wear pants but I'd say the only time yours are crowded is when the verbal stuff that comes out your top end comes out your other end and you have your bicycle clips on. Often I'd say.
Sami thanks for the mature advice. I am going to meet him and bring my friend Gloria along, to start anyway. She's 18 stone and doesn't take it from anybody.

Ha turns out she went out with him the weekend and he never put his hand in his pocket. Not even to scratch himself. She's welcome to him. Any man that has no motorbike but wears bikers leathers and skinny jeans (with a huge buckle) should be avoided. It is 2010 after all. I epect her to come running back in the next week or two blubbing and saying sorry but she'll be given a fair old freezing before normality returns.
