Re: Biggest legend ever?
biggest legend ever is a bit of a vague title is it not?
if we are talking actual legends - not the guys who generate a bit of streetcred and therefore are referred to as 'legends'. If we went by this I should think most people are legends - I certainly am
If we take the word 'legend' to mean a figure who has gone done in history and folklore as some sort of hero who may or may not have actually existed, the biggest real legend ever by terms of worldwide acknowledgement is probably Robin Hood, the green clad outlaw of Sherwood Forest who allegedly led the Merry Men against the tyranny of Prince John and the Sheriff of Nottingham.
Similarly, in Ireland the 'biggest' legend is probably Setanta, who is said to have killed a giant dog using a hurley and sliotar (although this did take place in Ulster and the feasibility of there being any real hurling skill in Ulster is debatable).
Looking at 'biggest' in terms of actual scale one could suggest one of the beasts encountered by Beowulf in the legendary Saxon poem. Beowulf fought against the huge monster named Grendel, as well as Grendels even bigger mother and a huge dragon. The giants from the story of the Giant's Causeway are also contenders for 'biggest' legend.
Here ends my discussion on the biggest legend ever. My own nomination the 'biggest legend ever' is photographed below.

Re: Biggest legend ever?
There's a touch of a Corkman about him too! Certainly speaking as a Meath person, no self respecting heterosexual man would appear on national television the way he did on Tommy and Hector! Not that I have anything against people of those preferences, even encourage it if women are concerned. But I'd have my doubts about Galvin, he likes to bend the rules and it wouldn't surprised me if he bent elsewhere.

I know it has no bearings on things these days, but he has a fine thing of an other half.

Good. Then to answer your initial question I don't know Galvin personally, but I know plenty that do and I've seen him out and about with his GIRLfriend.
