IKEA to sponsor Dublin
Saw this on the net.
IKEA are believed to be the front runners to sponsor Dublin GAA teams next year. Despite pressure from the prospective sponsor, Dublin Co Board officials have refused to change their colours to yellow and blue.
IKEA are pleased that Dublin fit in with their slogan ‘home is the most important place in the world.’ Swedish marketing analyst Magnus Svensson said ‘Croke Park is the most important place in the world to Dublin fans except in August when it becomes hell.’
A Dublin official told us ‘We are about to announce a new strip complete with the IKEA logo. It will be available in flat pack format and will be easily assembled. The sleeves and collars will be screwed to the main body with an Allen key which will be provided. It will be nothing new to see someone screwed in a Dublin jersey in Croke Park. The numbers will be velcroed on.’

Re: IKEA to sponsor Dublin
I see Vodafone and Dublin have sealed the deal! Another site is carrying a line about the new jerseys being available for Dublin's first competitive outing this season - next Sunday v Meath. Obviously they didn't consider Wexford as competitive ..... Don't blame me James!

Slap in the face for Wexford there!
A good sponsorship deal for the Dubs. Maybe that was the missing piece of the jigsaw! and they chose well by having a name with no "t"'s in it. At least the Dubs can't drop them! Wha!

Well its done now whether we like it Arnott!!! I hope our relationship with Vodafone will be engaging and will be a credit to the Dubs and that we will be mobile enough to win Sam! If not I will PUK up again. As long as there are good audio output Jacks on the Hill and we have a broadband of players to pick from hopefully Keaney will have his hands free to lift Sam!

Arnotts....A costly venture.
It appears that sponsoring Dublin has left the one time jewel of Irish retail out of pocket to the tune of €270m.
The Angels of Death (Anglo and Ulster) have ridden in to steady the ship
The question is this...Did Arnotts buy a €3m. pad for all squad members during the lifetime of their sponsorship deal.
It's obviously expensive to keep teams on the road for a season, but this much.. Good job the Dubs didn't go all the way to Sam or even close during this time, otherwise it would have had to become a head shop to stay afloat..
Also noted is a certain forumite's extensive refurbishments (rumoured to have cost €700k..)
Where's Mullins when you want him?? Out with it Mullins, who got what???
