Clocks Go Back....
Don't forget clocks go back on Sat night / Sun morning! I wonder could we put them back two years??
If you could go back in time what era would you like to have lived in? I recommend the 60s ....

Re: Clocks Go Back....
I would go back two weeks and watch Sea The Stars win the Arc!
In 100 years time, that day will be remembered as the greatest in Irish sport. And Jim McGrath's commentary was legendary:
"He'll have to be a champion I reckon"
"Perfection in Equine Form"
Also wouldn't mind going back to 2002 when I made my debut in the Theatre of Dreams aka Croke Park.

1601 - battle of Kinsale. I'd make sure there was no departure from Rathmullan.

Re: Clocks Go Back....
if i could go back in time it would be a toss up between the mid 1990's when i was just starting out in the world of university nightclubbing and partying, drinking and f**king about from a Friday afternoon until a Monday night, ah them were the days you hadn't a worry in the world least of all mortgages children cars and all that.
Or the start of this decade when we were in boom times and i would have the sense to have bought a 2nd or 3rd house when i was buying my first. I cleared over £100k profit on that house in the space of 4 years - if only i'd had the balls i could have been a wealthy man now

Boxty are we really living in a better world now - sometimes i wonder. Now its drugs swine flu bird flu every kind of f**king flu, rapists murderers paedophiles, greedy bankers, corrupt politicians, reality TV, BEBO Facebook and all those other silly social networking sites .. the list goes on.
The problems of the 60s could almost seem trivial in comparison to the problems we face now ...........................

It's all relative Boc. I live in a cocoon of my own imagination and am quite happy with where I'm at.
I owe nothing, live a moderate lifestyle with an odd excursion to foreign places (anywhere past Ballinamore or Mohill is deemed foreign) have a few scoops when the mood takes me and tend to ignore the social ills as outlined by yourself once the don't impact on me or mine.
It's noteworthy that these practitioners of evil have been around for decades.
The "children" are all fine and dandy, my "first" wife, while a little incapacitated, manages to enjoy herself and what more could you want. I retired in February and spent 2 months arseing around, when the call came to return, in shall we say "an advisory/training/consultancy" capacity. While being a sort of free agent, I was never as busy.
I never bought into the Celtic Tiger **** as I'd always realised it was merely a bubble and bubbles burst.
Pints in the historical village of Fenagh are on the cards later as we formalise the fact-finding trip to Liverpool.....

Re: Clocks Go Back....
Boxty - I spoke with the bro this evening and he has been to Nealy's and was aware of his passing and saddened by it. I reckon I will be there soon too for a few scoops - cheap rent on the holiday home maybe! I have no doubt our paths will cross. Do you know Jacky D?
