Davy gone?

Word is he handed in his notice to WCB. Clare job beckons. He did about as well as he could with Waterford but not convinced myself he'll ever make a top rate inter county manager.

Davy did nothing with Waterford. He inherited a team and the players did it. Davy was very slow to make changes, and some poor selections as well.

But a manager isn't a magician either lads. Does anyone think Brian Cody could manage the likes of Waterford or Clare to beat Kilkenny? Don't think so.

Well Bo did say on some other thread that if Micky Harte or Geezer were in charge of Dublin, they'd have beaten Kerry there last week. Dont agree myself but evidence, if it were needed that the 'cult of the manager' is still thriving.

He has the balls to have a stab at it and fair play to him for that, he's done well with a Waterford team that many said were past it.

It may not be always about the manager, but they do make a hell of a difference! I've seen some bad managers ruin great teams that i've been part of and a great manager worked wonders when we were considered useless!
