don't think so loyal was talking to a few boys from Cratloe who I'd know fairly well and they reckon Clare players don't give a toss and not really listening to Mike Mac either

The teams in relegation now knew about it before the start of the championship and so can have no complaints. They are in relegation for a reason, some have lost 2 games and have had enough chances.

dead right Clash, it is the fault of the four teams for losing, they knew there was a chance of relegation at stake.
And, ye did lose to Laois

the funny boys are about so lets fill ye lot in on a lot of the dealings that went on at that congress in sligo where all this shite went down
First up restructing of the hurling champ and relegation
All the leinster counties voted NO (ie against the shannon etc been crossed and relegation)
What happened all the other counties and please note these in the majority are non hurling counties voted in favour
that's how the motion got passed.
The relegation issued was not to the best of my knowledge sorted at congress

Re: SAVE THE FOUR
Holidays have hit Antrim hurlers again as Neil McManus and Neil McAuley will miss Saturday's relegation play-off against Offaly:
Make that save the three. McManus is our "Canning" and McAuley is top class by Ulster standards.
They do not deserve to stay up. FIVE players were on holiday for the Laois game, including the managers son.
Will Larkin and Shefflin be on holiday at the start of September?

Sure wasn't it the other counties in Connacht who decided that Tony Keady wouldn't play in 89.

Tony Keady was suspended in 1989, otherwise Galway would have beaten Tipp.
And lost to Antrim in the final.

Learn to take yer medicine like MEN, then one day ye might have realistic dreams about being proper frontline hurling counties like Galway,Kilkenny, Tipp and Dublin

What a complete fool.
If that was the case Galway wouldn't have a team, as they would have been expelled back in the 1960s due to woeful displays in Munster.
To tell the truth, you would only have ........true, there would not be anyone. Kilkenny would have been slung out after losing to Antrim in the 1940s, like Galway, and only winning one title in about 17 years. Tipp would have been expelled about 1986, and Cork in 1965.
Hurling would be wonderful then. Bet Tyrone wouldn't have won the Meagher Cup with Kilkenny and Galway in it, organised by Moss Bags.

Re: SAVE THE FOUR
Offaly hammered Antrim 1-28 to 0-13 in Saturday's
All-Ireland Hurling relegation play-off but the match had apparently
been rendered meaningless.BBC Sport understands that the DRA
directed in the early hours of Saturday that there should be no
relegation from this season's Liam McCarthy Cup. This followed appeals from the counties involved in Saturday's play-offs. The DRA is believed to have ruled that Ring Cup winners Carlow be promoted into a 13-team Liam McCarthy Cup. Next
year's Congress will now be asked to ratify the DRA's late night ruling
which came after the counties successfully argued against relegation
taking place this year on technical grounds. The GAA
subsequently released a brief statement on Saturday morning saying that
the play-offs would go ahead but with no further detail. However,
Antrim and Offaly officials became aware of the DRA verdict on Saturday
morning and more than one official described the game going ahead as a
"farce".

Re: SAVE THE FOUR
Its all down to a lack of underage success, Wexford haven't won a Leinster minor title since 1985 and Antrim have only ever reached the final once (1940).

Stop being a baby Pat and take your medicine. Throwing out meaningless drivel like this doesn't alter the fact that Antrim are muck(do they even care about the game when half the team their going on holidays at the height of Summer). You have to go back to the 60s to find the last time that Galway operated at your level, well done. We''ve learned since then, maybe about time Antrim did the same?

Re: SAVE THE FOUR
Thank you Moss bags, you are now in agreement with me.
Antrim need to up their game, as Galway did.
Will they be able to do that in the Christy Ring?
Exactly. It took a while Moss Bags but at least now you see sense.

True. And that is why Antrim need to be in Leinster at under-age level, and have an Ulster schools side in the Leinster colleges, just as the Dubs have reaped the benefit of a combined colleges team.
In Antrim we have lads who we think are brilliant playing under-age hurling.
Then aged 17/18 they come up against say Galway in the minor championship. Before this they have been playing against Derry and Down all their career.
We suddenly realise they are not as good as we thought, and that Galway/Tipp/Cork/Kilkenny have 3 or 4 better, and 7/8 just as good. We only have the one "star".
So geographical isolation means we will never win out at minor level.

Thank you Paddy I think your talking utter balls though. Whoever gets relegated should take the blow like MEN, not the whingers they've become. They'll be better for it in the long run.

Re: SAVE THE FOUR
Save your breath patrique, we all know what galway think of antrim hurlers, just ask Kieran Kelly. I must say the mask is really slipping over the last few days. Between sammy wilson and the 2 galway geniuses it proves exactly what i said all along, youse r full of SH1T3 and pretend to promote the game. Keep up the good work promoting the game lads!! Youse really are gods except when kilkenny play both your counties!!!

Re: SAVE THE FOUR
I said it already but the problem with the teams in relegation has nothing to do with senior teams. By the time a player is 18 years old he has most of his development over, the underage championships, training etc. in these counties needs a complete overhaul otherwise they are not going to improve.

Re: SAVE THE FOUR
Antrim have been and indeed patrique and others have been articulating that very point regarding underage hurling. Dublin are the living, breathing current example, its necessary to include antrim and other ulster counties if they want into a proper competitive environment otherwise we'll continue to get the sort of scores we endured today, which benefits nobody!
