Wouldn't be your eccentric type of commentator but everything he says is worth taking in. Certainly knows his stuff.

Yeah, he's not as good at the Athletics. Last year, at the Olympics, Steve Cram done a great commentry of the 100m, 200m and 4*100m whereas there wasn't a bit of "We are witnessing greatness here" in George's voice. Good soccer commentator though.

Ah I dunno Loyal - loves blowing his own rtrumpet if you ask me. Brian Carthy used to do my head in but I met him twice in the last 6 months and a more genuine and sound guy you wouldn't meet.

ITV soccer commentary is awful, i put the telly on mute and turn BBC Radio 5Live on and listen to their commentary while I watch the game.

I like Jim McGrath and Tony O'Hehir for the horse racing. Ger Canning and Darragh Moloney for the GAA and Clive Tendsley and Martin Tyler for the soccer.

I don't like Tony O'Hehir at all Clash, he's gone very poor, makes a mess of the Grand National every year for the BBC. He's an excellent journalist but can't commentate anymore. Jim McGrath is good but the same every race with him: "ranges up, grabs the lead and careers away!!!" Every race, the same, still he makes every race exciting.

Ryll Nugent does a good job on the rugby. Who does the live commentary at race meetings in Ireland usually national hunt.

Dessie Scahill!!!!! He's losing it as well, missing fallers left, right and centre and mixing up names all the place. Gets the colours wrong the odd time as well, caused mayhem on the exchanges about a year or two ago when he called the wrong horse home. There is a new Irish commentator coming along - Jerry Hannon, he is quality!
