Ill prisoners.
Should all prisoners that fall ill or reach a certain age while serving their sentences be released as they are not likely to offend while ill or infirm, surely this would go somewhat to alleviating the chronic overcrowding situation and allow for more convicted criminals to serve a meaningful custodial sentence instead of the revolving door system in place at the moment.

Good subject but it could start a trend if one walks solicitors will all be looking for illness tickets out! Justice isnt harsh enough anyway.

True. The riot squad should be sent EVERY day to give them all a good beating.

Come on now, every day? lol
I was thinking more like the USA style system in new york state where by, steal a car once its strike one its minimun sentence, steal a car twice strike 2 double the original sentence and 3rd strike trebble or more of the original sentence depending on judge.

If they were released, why are the in there.. the American Penal system that you espouse wouldn't play ball with them. The government down here give in to them to keep them quiet. Unfortunately, blackmail does work to ome extent.

The american government like many super power governments refuse to acknowledge political prisoners in certain states, the southern gov acknowledges like something else that these boys arent your run of the mill prisoners and deserve to be given their status due to underlying issues, your mind set set is similar to that of a certain prime minister in britain by the name of margaret thatcher, funny that.
