In the aftermath of our club's progression to the last 8 of Leitrim's Intermediate competition ,we followed this up with our annual Graveyard Mass (2009) which for the 3rd. year in- a- row was held in fine conditions with a gathering of around 1.5k people.

This gathering of parochial, neighbourly folk was augmented by the roasting of a pig in a nearby hostelry,(200 yds.) which lead to the abandoment of chariots as our D4 denizens cast off their garbs' of pomposity and "got back to their roots" with their real rustic bros/sis/cousins.

Már focaíl scoír, might I add, the 82nd. Ballinamore Show is on Tuesday, wherin Boxty's much coddled, groomed and well cared for (Award-winning ? ) bullock has a sneaky chance

Feel free to add to....

Is he well-behaved?

A relativly docile Chaeoiais(Aren't they all) Loyal but a fine bullock nonetheless.
Nanny is practising scones all day tomorrow for the event....
While not in the pantheon of great Shows, that day is gone, chased by pot-hunters and publicity, appro Tullamore today (Glory chasers) we'll have a fair Show where the cream will rise to the top....

Fógra.....Ye' played well today.....nothing without the Leitrim forces.......

Our burial ground lies within' 200 yds. of the local village (7 houses,2 pubs and sporadic enclaves)
Our folk are immune to wind, rain, hail or snow - hence we opt for August.

Aah! on the day is in it, ''tis great to meet the "Parish Elders" *

*Boxty Snr. held the title 2002-04.......'92-94 yrs old.
Current holder Thomas (Son) McLoughlin....93 and apart from sight isssues a feckin' cracker.

Sounds like the place to be Boxty. We should have had our day out there instead!! Loyal could have been the 'guest' Elder .... I reckon he's about 98 ...
