The weekend of a Connacht Final remains one of the GREAT weekends in the west of Ireland

It co-incides, as a rule, with such cultulal epics as the Joe Mooney Summer school in the almost urban sprawl that is modern day Drumshanbo, the Leitrim Fleádh Céoil in the hamlet that is Ballinagleara, the All-Ireland welly-peggin' finals in rural Aughavas and the County Final of the "eat the most pans of boxty in 15 mins." tournament in the historical village of Fenagh.
All these occasions require the support of neighbouring communities and pints will not neither pour themselves nor be consumed without the aid and assistance of local clubs.

From mid-July to mid-August (Auguest) as we say it, inter-tribal rivalries are allowed to be indulged, what with graveyard Masses across 6 half-parishes over 4 Sundays.
T'would be a mean hoor that wouldn't spare a drop of Holy Water to a burial neighbour over his ancesstral plot no matter who he shouted for the previous evening..

Community relationships in Leitrim are the best in the developed world... drunken

Quiet on here tonight as well on the eve of this year's All-Ireland Final. Only me and RMD logged on and since we aren't talking...............no posts.

Wonder where everyone is?
