Fermanagh V Cavan
Well, i stated in my Ulster Championship run-down that Fermanagh would not get past Down and they have surprised me.
How do we see this game going? Or do we care?
Personally i think Fermanagh will beat Cavan, who you never quite know what team is going to turn up.
What do we all think? Will it be the most boring game of the year!

Re: Fermanagh V Cavan
Lyng is out. But lets say the Cavan forward 8 is:
Galligan Walsh
Reilly Cullivan Flanagan
Jelly Givney Pierson
They would laugh at most teams backs in fairness. And lads like Mackey, McKiernan, Brady and Mad Eddie are on the bench - all decent footballers in their own right. I hope Givney starts, he's only young but he's the best junior footballer in Cavan.

Jelly is a class act - I would pay in just to see the guy.

Mad Eddie is better, he'll probably be at full-forward but I'm hoping its Givney.

Re: Fermanagh V Cavan
would have to plump for Fermanagh as well. Cavan struggled to beat a second/third string wexford outfit last weekend. Cavan had them all. I know its not a total accurate barometer but most of the Wexford lads were getting there last spin for the year.

Re: Fermanagh V Cavan
The outing against Down should really stand to Fermanagh. Would expect them to improve again and win this although Seanie Johnson's inclusion on the starting lineup would be a major plus for Cavan

Good shout Loyal, young Givney is a rare talent. It's a big ask of him but last Sunday we gave Mossy Beirne his champo debut (fine big young lad from a Junior club) and not alone did he play well, but fought to the end and was the only one "to put himself about" in what was a very sporting game.
The Down game will stand to Fermanagh, but Cavan could give them a rattle - pedigree and tradition, while wearing thin, hasn't died out there yet.
And it's High Noon for Tommy Carr - expect a big effort....

J Reilly; M Hannon, D Sheridan, M Brides; J McCutcheon, E Keating, P O'Reilly; N Walsh, C Galligan; S Brady, R Flanagan (capt), C Mackey; S Johnston, R Cullivan, M Reilly.
Where is Pierson? The whole half-forward line from Castlerahan, oh dear!!!!

Jesus that was poor stuff. The team that was marginally less bad won.
Seanie Johnson was the one bright spot in the game. Then I start watching Ireland against Bulgaria and it's like watching Fermanagh all over again. That's what Trap has turned us into ... the Fermanagh of International football
