It seems that Donegal had a goal disallowed in the final 2 mins.
It wasn't disallowed as such as there had been a free blown up before the goal for a foul committed by Colm Mc Fadden.
Anywho..Hate to say I told you so but... Also correct prediction of score and everything, I should really give up the day job.
No one is laughting now when I said Antrim would be worth a punt at 50/1 each way for Ulster...

I will laugh if they beat Derry in the final! What will Bright-Oak say then?

You'd have to give them a chance though, given their manager will know how to deal with Derry's main threats...

Would you agree Donegal still rely too much on Roper and Toye? Things were going tits up for a while and then they came on to steady the ship and had they not of come on I'd say Antrim would have won by a bigger margin. Must check out comments I made on Donegals' last league game about this to see if my prediction was right.

I hear that Martin Mc Hugh was almost crying on BBC after the game. Good to see I cannot abide that odious little man

Jarlath Burns had to turn his head away so he wouldnt laugh. You could see it on his face that he was trying not to.
Nothing against Donegal fans but McHugh is annyoing!
Re: Antrim v Donegal
Aye, and Jarlath was an honorary Antrim man for the day! In fairness it's fantastic to see for anyone outside of Donegal. Only in Ulster!

You did not predict a draw for Wicklow- Westmeath. You also sent me a mail earlier in the week asking to change your choice of Laois to Louth - maybe I will grant your wish - leaving you with 6 points ..........

Re: Antrim v Donegal
The above was my official, considered reaction.
I got drenched during the minor game, andn wasn't really looking forward to the "big" game.
Being from an underperforming cpounty has great advantages. Beating Down in the hailstones in 2000 was better than winning 6 all Ireland's, after 18 years of losing.
And today, first away victory I have been at since the 1970s was up there as well. At my age shouldn't be dancing around the terraces with unknown women, and shouting and bawling, and crying and yelling.
But, to get to the nitty gritty.
Antrim had a very big support today, and this illustrates the massive potential in the county.
And a county like Antrim doesn't need any sympathy by the way, or "isn't it nice to see them win a game" plaudits.
I saw Antrim parade behind the Artane Band on all Ireland HURLING day. My greatest memory of all GAA is the unknown Antrim woman's face in the crowd when she realised we were going to beat Offaly that day in 1989.
Down and Cavan with their glory, and nowadays Tyrone, derry, Armagh and Donegal, their followers have never experienced that. No-one North of Dublin has.
It is my greatest wish that someday that statistic changes.
And thanks to the people in Ballybofey today, for a great day out.
PS: if we reached the final and somehow Tyrone beat Derry, I wouldn't be able to go.
Honestly, I would end up in jail.

Re: Antrim v Donegal
And despite having backed Donegal to win Ulster when the draw was made, i was slightly hopeful, and actually agreed with Niamh on many points before the game.
This is from my pre match article.
"And this year there is some substance to the hope. Under the astute
management of Liam Bradley Antrim have secured promotion from Division
4, and enjoyed an unbeaten run in the league programme. A subsequent
loss to Sligo in the League “Final” has been the only blemish this year.
Antrim
have a number of talented players and a number of players who have
experienced the intense competition that is Sigerson Cup football. That
experience will stand to good stead this Sunday, as we look to Justin
Crozier, Paddy Cunningham, Niall McKeever, Thomas McCann and James
Loughrey to take the fight to Donegal.
With veterans Sean
McGreevy and Kevin Brady still very much to the fore, there is a hope
and belief that the Saffrons could spring a shock on Sunday.
The
Counties have met five times in the last twenty years, and although
Donegal have won all five games, four of those victories were by less
than three points. Who can forget Kevin Madden’s initial impact on the
county scene with a scorching goal at this venue after appearing as a
super sub in the mid 1990s?
Donegal are appearing without long
time stalwarts like Brendan Devenney, Christy Toye and Brian Roper.
However it is a mere two years since Donegal won a National Title in
the shape of the National League, and they are many people’s choice to
appear in the Ulster Final, emerging from what some see as the easier
half of the draw.
For Antrim supporters over the years the idea
of an “easier” half of the draw is amusing. All Championship games are
tough, and Sunday is no exception."
So, forgive me for showing little faith on these hallowed pages, but I never like to tempt fate in regard to Antrim.

Re: Antrim v Donegal
Have to admit, when there were only 2 points in it I thought Antrim were going to crumble, but they didnt. Dad is from Antrim so I am getting a lot of stick - Antrim have lasted longer than Armagh in the USFC
Hopefully we will meet in the qualifiers to shut him up!

I don't know what he was crying about Naimh, if he had went for the job when it came up he would have got it every time but what did he do? He decided to rule himself out of it and then slag off Donegal and their manager from the security of the Irish Star and the TV. I'm sorry if i offend RMD here by saying this about McHugh but he is a weasel of a man that i have lost every ounce of respect for in recent years. Not for his comments but for not having the balls to take over and manage Donegal when he had the chance. I once seen him at Clones for an Ulster Championship match where i told him exactly what i thought of him, the horrible little toad.
Hard luck to Donegal, they'll be dangerous in the Qualifiers hopefully. I must ask, how come certian posters cannot comment on an Ulster Championship match without mentioning a style of play? Just because there's more passion in a burnt out matchstick than their own Provincials.
Well done Antrim, and particularly big Baker Bradley, but mark my words the Ulster Final is this weekend!

This is now known as "doing a Loyal" Patrique!!!
I'll be the first to admit, i thought Antrim had no chance and Donegal had a cake walk to the final but i was wrong and well done to Antrim, i hope you enjoyed the game Pat but i'll stand by the comment i have previously made.

Re: Antrim v Donegal
i thought Antrim fully deserved their win - ok Donegal hit 17 wides but in my opinion Antrim were still the better team. In particular the no.10 O' Neill who was playing as sweeper, he read everything very well.
Antrim suffered a blow with the loss of the keeper early on but they didnt panic and they didnt let it upset their game plan - obviously an indicator of how well prepared Bradley and Conway have them.
For Donegal well its nothing less than i expected - i did try to convince BE a few times that Donegal couldnt win Ulster this year. Their forwards bar Murphy at FF were poor - Mc Fadden was a disaster and has been for some now. He has had one decent game for Donegal and that was the day he destroyed Tyrone in Clones a few years ago.
I cant see Donegal doing anything in the qualifiers
