He certainly isn't - shame on you, RMD. (See midway down this article...)

He did a good job with Donegal also in difficult circumstances, and I recall hearing that the players only really appreciated him after they got Doherty. By the time JJ had finished, they were crying out for structure and discipline again.

I've said it on here before, McIver was shafted by the DL CB. He acquitted himself very well throughout however.

How highly do we rate Patrick McBrearty? Would he enter this type of conversation?

Not sure about that - I think he has that wiry type of frame that is very hard to mark! I think I would pick Jamie just because of his unpredictability and natural skill. IMO P McBrearty wouldn't be near this type of talk - Gooch or BB?

The question asked was who would you buy - Gooch is over 30, so I wouldn't waste a fortune on him, and the same goes for Brogan. As Omar will tell you, buy low and sell high!

I mentioned McBrearty as he is also a young forward. I agree that he isn't yet as good as Clarke, but I wouldn't be surprised if he was the better of the 2 in a few years. He's still only 19.

I was right about McBrearty Sad

Divsion 2 teams haven't fared too well in the championship with Derry, Galway, Laois, Longford and Armagh all losing their opening championship game and Westmeath joining them following their win over Carlow. Six teams from Division 2 will be in the Round One qualifier draw. Only one from Division One (Tyrone).

The 3 meetings between sides from division 1 and 2 have been eye opening.

Dublin and Mayo annihilated Westmeath and Galway respectively, while Down outscored Derry 2-8 to 0-5 in a processional 2nd half today. These were 3 sides pretty much in the top half of division 2, and the gap that has opened between the best and the rest is alarming.
