Re: Benny retires
Ah he should be remembered for a lot more than a red card. Gave a lot to Tipp even when the chips were down. Fair play to him.

Re: Benny retires
Honest enough hurler but nothing more. Says more about Tipps options or lack of them in the mid part of the last decade that he ended up being one of their key men between 2004 and 2007, a period that I doubt any tipp fan will look back on with much fondness. Made a couple of decent contributions off the bench in recent years, against Cork in 2009 probably being the pick of them when he popped over a couple of late points with the game in the balance, had plenty of abilty but his versatility didn't help, far too loose a hurler to be a back while not stroung enough to be a consistent threat at half forward.
Best of luck to him in retirement

As forgettable as they come I'm afraid....
Jaysus, this Roscommon lad comes on with an opening post about some long forgotten timber merchant from Tipp...I'd have a feeling he's posting from the Four Roads/Athleague part of the republic....Any oul' scandal in Hamrock's out your way buddy....

Re: Benny retires
I never regarded Benny Dunne as a dirty player. Even the best players have done things in the heat of a game that they might regret in cooler moments. He was a solid enought player, although overshadowed by his older brother, Tommy.
