Jerry Wallis Antrim Manager
Well, new appointment for the saffs, worked well with dinny last time out how do people feel he will fair on his own?
Im dissappointed to see Dinny go, i feel he could do a great job in one of the bigger counties, but we'll see, maybe he'll take a break. In the same light in excited to see Jerry Wallis and hope he does well, can he bring us on? can he make us believe in Antrim?

I'm surprised to hear this. i hope it goes well for ye, but, I'm not aware that Wallis has any sort of managerial experience. He's just a fitness trainer, isn't he?

Yeah all previous work as a fitness trainer, but is of a hurling background and has worked with O Grady this year and O Grady in cork with they won Liam, so hes been about the best.
He was here a few years back as fitness trainor and he gets even the stick work sessions to a different level of intensity, heres hoping he can do the same again!

Dinny is his own worst enemy though. If he could tone down his carry on he could do a decent job alright, no doubting his ability as a coach or his passion but he is far too much of a loose cannon and liable to say or do anything
He isn't held in much regard in Tipp after throwing away a minor A/I semi final in 1997 with a very strong side* and he made some comments that were fairly close to the bone in the middle of the last decade that antagonised a good number of the current players, Declan Fanning was scathing of him in a couple of interviews last winter
* Think Paudie Butler was also involved with that side as well and is often cited as a reason why neither never got a shot at the senior job when the likes of Michael Doyle/Babs/Ken Hogan were given opportunities in recent times.

I see Dinny could well end up as part of the Galway set up as a selector/coach with Johnny Kelly

I read that myself, may be the best route for him into one of the bigger jobs!

If he was happy enough to be the hurling coach and blend into the background then he would be a fine addition to any set up.
