Division 1 League Final
Well what do we think? Sorry I should clarify here that we are talking about the Division 1 Footbal Final and not the Division 1 Hurling Final both of which obviously feature Dublin ...
Will Giller throw in a few big guns or will he stick by a lot of fringe lads who have got the team this far? Personally I think he will stick with the lads who have featured so far. So it may not provide a huge window as to what the C'ship team might resemble. I don't think he will play the same tactics as the semi last year - players not fit enough for it yet for a start. He is likely to play a more orthodox formation with the half forwards dropping to cover midfield and the half backs. He will probably go with two men in the FF line. It could be a hot day which will be good Champo preparation.
Walsh supposedly out for Cork - Sheehan and Kerrigan doubts. Don't see many Corconians travelling on Easter Sunday so likely to be a majority Dublin crowd. Would be nice to see the Blues win! Jaysus when I was a young fella winning the League seemed to happen every other year ......

In certain circles that's known as playing 13 men behind the ball in a packed defence.

As a matter on interest Jayo would you see it as a set back if the Dubs got beat in the football?

Re: Division 1 League Final
Ah no not a setback as such. Mind you if we were to lose I suppose the nature of the defeat might dictate whether it might be construed as a setback. If it was something along the lines of Tyrone 2008 or Kerry 2009 (shudder!) that would not be good! If we lose by a point or three then no big deal. I think there will be a lot of difference between the starting XV on Sunday and the C'ship team anyway. Having said that it would be nice to win a bit of silverware - always good to stay winning.

How far away is Dublins first Championship game? It is realistic that there will be that many changes ?

Won't be to hard to beat a mediocre Cork team....I Would guess giller will stick with most of League panel for the final..It would be wrong not to give them a chance on Sunday....

Re: Division 1 League Final
From Hill16.ie -
Bryan Cullen will captain Dublin in Sunday’s eagerly awaited Allianz NFL Division 1 final against Cork in Croke Park (4.0).
There are six changes in personnel from the draw with Galway last time out as Stephen Cluxton returns between the posts, Michael Fitzsimons comes in for Nicky Devereux at corner-back, Barry Cahill moves to wing-back as Michael Macauley joins Denis Bastick at midfield with Paul Casey and Sean Murray losing out in the reshuffle. Up fron Kevin McManamon and Tomás Quinn return to action with Pat Burke and the suspended Alan Brogan losing out.
DUBLIN (SF v Cork)
1. Stephen Cluxton
2. Michael Fitzsimons
3. Paul Brogan
4. Philly McMahon
5. Barry Cahill
6. Ger Brennan
7. Kevin Nolan
8. Denis Bastick
9. Michael Darragh Macauley
10. Paul Flynn
11. Kevin McManamon
12. Bryan Cullen (Captain)
13. Tomás Quinn
14. Diarmuid Connolly
15. Bernard Brogan
Subs:
The substitutes will be announced before the game.
Injury list:
Ross McConnell will be unavailable until the end of April after his recovery from a hip injury.
James Brogan tore his cruciate in a recent club game and will be out for the 2011 season.
Eamon Fennell, Hugh Gill, Paul Conlon and Cian O’Sullivan are not match fit for Inter County football and were not considered for this week’s game.
David Henry has resumed training with the squad
That looks strong enough for me...
