First three words there are a paradox ....
You buying the Herald again JS???? No hype here thank God - among any of the fans. We are in bonus territory and happy to be here. Don't be lapping up the media crap ....

Just as a matter of interest is there anyone out there who can tell me when was the last time that there was not an All Ireland medal between the four semi finalists? 1967?

You're beginning to sound a bit like Brian Lenihan at this stage. "Stabilising, prospects, recovery, all is good, on the way up, lights in tunnels blah blah...
My hatred for all those Cork hoors may have to be put on the back burner if this guff from you carries on......
A population in excess of 1m. and you're talking bonus territory.. You're slowly being infected by your colleague on here I'm afraid...
Just to add, when we had a population of 22k. we got this far a mere 16 years ago only to be robbed by ye'....Spoofer..

1987 ? Meath, Cork, Derry, galway (unless there is a cork link to 1973)
1992 (Donegal, clare, Mayo - Dublin) did O leary play in 83 and 92 ?
1997 Kerry, Mayo Cavan, Offaly (not sure on Kerry any link to 1986)

Re: Dublin v Cork
Looks like the Dublin supporters are building their team up for another great fall here. Their players have done quite well this year in the face of general indifference and outright hostility to Pat Gilroy and his tream. Without all the hype and in front of the empty seats, a case of Dublin Footballers 1, Dublin Supporters 0.
No surprise to see the bandwagon getting back into full gear again now they've made it to a semi final, hopefully the team will stay focused on the job in hand and not let all the fairweather fans disrupt them too much as they have a decent chance against Cork.

1987 seems a decent shout to me - though Billy Morgan was manager of Cork that year and had a Celtic cross from 1973 as a player.
John O'Leary won a Celtic cross as Number 1 in 83
1997 seems to also be correct ....

Re: Dublin v Cork
Thanks Omar and Jayo. It looks like 1987 . Stephen Stack won as sub in 1986 for Kerry + 1997. Based on managers, all four have medals.McCarten--2, Counihan--2,McGeeney--1 and Gilroy--1.

Re: Dublin v Cork
It must be 1987.
Strangely, Dinny Allen of Cork probably should have won his second all-ireland medal that year, but he had been dropped from the panel, just as he had been in 1973 when they last won. He won his first inter-county football medal in 1989, despite making his debut at the start of the '70s.

Re: Dublin v Cork
Good luck to the dubs on sunday, out of all the teams left i think the dubs are the best equiped to beat Cork. In terms of size and physicality (corks biggest assets) the dubs will not be intimidated (christ after the 08,09 quarter finals i never thought i would see the day i would say that). Really think the dubs can do this. Good luck, hopefully a kildare v dublin final

Re: Dublin v Cork
Looking forward to this game, but I think Cork will beat Dublin. Cork have more experienced players and for some of them it might even be their last chance. Although Dublin like to use the blanket defence Cork's forwards will be too powerful for them to handle.
Dublin have found new forwards but I think that Cork's defence will hold them off. Also think there will be red cards in this game.
Hard to call but Cork by 4.

Yeah because Mulligan, O'Neill and Cavanagh wouldn't get on the Dublin team
