2241 From John Clarke on Twitter: "My Dad has supported Rovers since he was a boy and to see him jump around tonight was brilliant. LOI on the way up."
Staggering really.....allegedly he's 92 years old.....

Great result for Shams and a great result for domestic soccer (uuggghhh, I feel dirty even saying it. Would be so much better if it was the real Rovers, or even Bohs doing it).
That said, I think the manner in which the penalty was won more than proved that Shams have what it takes to adapt to the European style of football.
As a side point, black&white played on numerous teams with Stephen O'Donnell (Connacht schools and underage teams) and he was one of the most gifted players I've had the priviledge of playing with.
The last time we shared a pitch was a schools semi-final between Summerhill and the Bish (on opposing sides). Game was decided on penalties. Decisive penalty was taken by Steve, and saved by none other than b&w.
Glad to see he's improved his penalty taking skills since then!

Will it look strange for outsiders to see Spurs fans outnumber Shamrocks fans at home...?

Re: Any League of Ireland fans on here?
The impoverished state of Irish soccerball was exposed for all to see tonight, as a raggle-taggle bunch of Greeks, fresh from beatings in Cannes at the "talks", restored their national pride by evicting Shambolic Rovers from some meaningless European competition....
This victory is sure to affect the money markets in the morning, as buoyancy is restored to the Greek situation..
In years to come our grandchildren will talk of the night that a few goat-herders, fortune-tellers and wood-turners saved the Greek nation and by extension the entire European project...
Warriors of Salonika we salute you and our hearts are with you at this critical time.....To PAOK..
