Mighty Fulham!
The youngest brother had his Bar mitzvah the day Fulham played West Ham in the FA Cup final (1975) and has been a life long fan since. Through the bad years - many - a spell in the 4th Division - much in the 3rd. The flirtation with Rodney Marsh and George Best - when the lads once famously tackled each other - Intertoto success. And in recent years a prolonged period in the Premier - mainly thanks to the underrated genius of Roy Hodgson. He was considering going over tonight but flights were too expensive cos of St Pat's Day.
And what a night. Ate alive in Turin and lucky to be just 3-1 down, they went a goal down tonight after 2 minutes to Trezeguet's goal. Imagine being a Fulham fan sitting there - your night ruined. Not so. A stunning comeback started by Bobby "When the ball hits the net, who's the scorer I'll bet its ZAMORA." (Used to be 'When your sitting in row Z and the ball hits your head that's Zamora....' )
Juve got rattled and Cannavaro saw red - then Gera got a couple and Clint Dempsey rounded up a great night for the Cottagers when it looked like extra time. A mighty display from Fulham - a small, homely London club. Puts Uniteds efforts against the same opposition a few years ago in the shade. Go on Fulham - pride of London!
ps Nobody was run over by any of the players after the game.

Re: Mighty Fulham!
Yeah he's a great guy and modest too - no mind games or tantrums from Roy. He has managed all over Europe and in the Middle East. He seems to get the best out of his players - he has turned Zamora's career upside down, rejuvenated Duff and Clint Dempsey is playing great stuff under him. Hmmm - I wonder would he sign Paul McShane ....
ps Great winner by Dempsey - just like Hoddle in his heyday as the newsman said.

Yes, evens things up a bit.
So far this year in clashes between the crisis ridden, wrapped up, debt stricken, useless seria A and the premiership it is now only 6-3 to Italy with one draw.

Re: Mighty Fulham!
that was some turnaround in fairness to Fulham - Hodgson has done a great job there fair play to him - could be the next Galway manager if he plays his cards right

Re: Mighty Fulham!
It was strange that the FAI never pursued their interest in Hodgson when Staunton got sacked. His wages from the Finnish FA were apparently less than what Stan was earning at the time. There would have been no need for Denis O'Brien's intervention as benefactor either. Al well and good in hindsight I suppose .
At around 10/1 to win it out I might put a few bob on Fulham, They've already beaten two teams of higher pedigree than their next opponents so I reckon they're worth a punt.

Not sure but I think the commentator last night said they were 66/1 to win it out before the match.

it's what used to be know as the Conference. Very low down I know, but this is York City we're talking about. Back into the football league after a 6 year hiatus?!
