Mother's Day...14/03/2010.
These type of florists/card vendors/3 card trick jobs should be banned to hell..
Boxty fears, nay, is assured, of an invasion of Junior Boxty's bearing baubles for the War Office, while secretly, nay, flagrantly, scouring through Boxty's supply of hard liquor... .
Boxty is encouraged to "bond" with the mini-Boxtys by assuming a Grandfatherly role and creating a sort of mini Disneyworld in the hayshed ( Slides, trapeze acts etc..)
In my arxe... ....Ban these occasions!!!!

Picked up Celine Dion's greatest hits for £2.99 in HMV. That'll do nicely.

Some mothers really do have 'em
This anti-mother tirade of Boxty's must not be allowed to garner any attention or support(not that anything he says ever really does)
What Leitrim fails to appreciate is that mothers Day offers a vital 'get out of jail' card
for those who tend to forget their mothers birthdays. Without this
annual opportunity to make amends son's all across the land would be proper fooked.

nope! I visited my "rogue trader as well and picked up The Best of OMD and Wake Up! by The Boo Radleys for £3
I'm not a cheap skate...I just enjoy a good bargain...as far as mother is concerned Celine Dion's greatest hits of worth at least £10.

Doubt it...most people over here wouldn't recognise a hurley if it hit them in the face.

Ha ha great post as usual Mr B!
I can imagine the conversations this week in Junior Boxty houses.
"Ah Da - do we have to go to Granda's this weekend? He's strange... he keeps making stupid stuff in the shed - and then he won't give us a go at all - he hogs them. Granny is fine but ........."

Half the expected influx of visitors are on-site as we speak....Boxty and Nanny (mainly) are holding the fort...
A rake of visitors, pals of the Junior B's, are knocking about, having buried the last of McGahern's so-called friends..
Madeline McGahern was rather stand-offish the other night, prompting Boxty to wonder has his dismissal of JMcG on this forum bugged her in some way...I was waiting for "Boxty, ya' bollocks"....She may be "A Guest"
Now that Winters over...I'll post a cracker, if long tale of survival, at -12.........The Village Warrior (The 4 gallon man) lives..

Well, the rapport and welcome for denizens from across the lake, many of whom travelled from across the many waves offered by the mourners far and away obliterated any presence Madasme McG put in (as she slyly sneered at us peasents) in her fine overcoat
Mind you..with her late partner and herself having made $6.m outa' it without recourse, 'tis hard to be humble...
As she offered her (gloved paw) to Boxty in a greeting mode...Hah!!!...Boxty spied another paw.....And 'twasn't a big funeral.
