Re: Hurling League general chit chat thread
Antrim were poor against carlow. Neil McManus, our Joe Canning, was playing on his own until the second half when "Winker2 Watson decided to get involved.
"Winker" would be more skillful and faster than Canning or Neil, but not as good all round. The fact that he was playing Irish league soccer the day before doesn't help.
Still, Dinny has him and McIntoosh back in the panel, which augers well.

Indeed it should.Davy Fitz rested a few against Dublin, wonder will he bring them in for Sunday. One by one our front line players are coming back on board and will be surprised if Tannion and Moore don't start. Might be a bit soon yet for a starting berth for Davy Collins but am excited at the prospect of seeing him play some part against the blaa's.

Re: Hurling League general chit chat thread
Lovely day for the hurling in Pearse today with the low Sun splitting the stones(bar the last ten minutes where it was thundering hailstones). Waterford looked flakey enough and bar their dominance in the 2nd quarter Galway were way ahead of them all over the pitch.
1 Callinan,7/10 no chance with the goal from Shane Walsh(fast becoming Galways nemisis that wee fecker) but otherwise did everything asked. My number one choice for goal but Mcyntire like to stick with rotation policy with Skehill for duration lof the league.
2 Moore, 7/10, good game on his first full return from injury. Looked in total command of Moluphmy throughout
3 Kavanagh 8/10, Theres no debate about it anymore, simply our only option at FB. Maybe caught out a bit for Walshes goal, but it did come from a flukey deflection off the top of Cahalans helmet. Otherwise imperious
4 Joyce 7/10, never stopped working, mopped up a lot of ball. Decision making can let him down at time but getting cuter with thew years
5 Barry 6/10 Fine display, Not afraid to get stuck in and gave Maurice Shanahan plenty of it today in Salthill.
6 Regan 7/10 Doing a fine job keeping John Lee on his toes. Between himself and Collins Blaa hotshot was taken to the cleaners today
7 Collins 7/10 More than satisfactory return from longterm injury from 2005 young hurler of the year, scoring a lovely point to boot. Will get better still once fully match fit. Could make a telling difference for us this year.
8 Farragher 7/10 Solid without being spectacular. Some lovely touches and looking totally at home at MF these days. Still has the bit of class thats always set him apart.
9 Cahalan 8/10 Superb display, albeit as quiet as the rest of them when Waterford had their 15 minutes. Two great points and might yet be the answer to partner Ger in the middle.
10 Callanan 6/10 Started well but tended to drift in and out of the game. Will need a lot more from him as the season progresses
11 7/10 Works like a dog but wayward shooting lets him down. Picked out some fine passes today though to other lads in better space.
12 6/10 Harte, Decent effort from the Gort man capped with a thunderbolt goal from the ground. Needlessly booked within a minute of that goal though. Should come on a lot for that.
13 9/10 Another one coming back from injury and was definitly on his game today. Moved better than I've seen him before even if he looked to be carrying a bit. Might be tried at cente forward as the year goes on. Needs to maintain this level.
14 8/10 Looked the ideal target man today, albeit against a soft enough looking full back line. Scored 0-4 and set up the first goals. His excellent form this year will present an intirguing dillema to John Mac and co on JCs return
15 Healy 6/10 Looked dangerous at times today but went awol for much of the game as well. Ritcy Cummins might be the better option here come the Summer.

Wouldn't be overly worried there Sami. Dublin, a very good hurling side in this day and age, especially in Parnell Park, were always gonna be smarting after their poor display against Waterford last week and they had Dotsy back for them and Crabb started for them as well today(miraculously enough). Tipp were rusty enough today I'd say and trying out plenty of new faces who maybe just arn't up to it. They need Shane McGrath back asap.
Might be just the kick up the arse they need before KK next week.

well I would expect the team that were last years league and All-Ireland finalists to be able to beat a Dublin side that were coming off the back of a huge defeat and were still finding their footing in top division hurling.
that being said, the Dubs are not to be underestimated and did tremendously.

Precisely the point Sami, Last years perhaps unlucky All-Ireland Finalists against an improving, albeit out of form Dublin team A game you would have expected them to win, I expected them to win it myself. Not however as you put it 'a game they really should have won'.
