Tara Rafa
Well I reckon thats the straw that broke the scouser's back. Surely its adios for the Spaniard now? Things have just got progressively worse this season but at least it wasn't a Championship side that dumped them out of the cup and at least they aren't next to insolvent! So well done Reading and the next Reading Rafa will be doing is his P45!

Liverpool are a poor team. How are they that hight up the table though? It doesn;t say a lot for the rest of the teams.

Re: Tara Rafa
FA Cup is Leeds to lose. The gods are smiling with the handy draws so far - away to Man U and now Spurs - simple stuff really. I am not one for cliches at the end of the day and it is a game of two halves and you can only beat whats put in front of you over 90 minutes and a team on paper will never beat a team on grass - but their name is surely on the Cup ....

Can they afford to sack Benitez did he not sign a new contract recently?

Signed a 5 year deal lately so the estimated cost of sacking him is somewhere around €20 million. Money they don't have.

Re: Tara Rafa
Read on a paper closer to £80mill, 20 for him, 2o for his staff, 20 to get a new manager and a further 20 for his staff.Jayo Cluxton wrote:clash-of-da-ash wrote:Can they afford to sack Benitez did he not sign a new contract recently?

Add in the €1 million they will get when they sell Aquilani compared to the €20 they paid for him and its nearer €100 million!!!

Was reading in the paper that the Aquilani deal is based on apperances hence the reason why Rafa doesn't use him often. They also received false information from Roma about his injury so they may not have to pay any more. Think they paid £5m up front and that could rise to £20m based on appearances and qualifying for the champions league etc.

Look at Burnley they lose Coyle to Bolton and decide to replace him with a guy who had been sacked two weeks previous from a league 1 side

I think you'll find Burnley employed Brian Laws who had been sacked from Sheffield Wednesday, a championship side Bocerty

the standard of championship football is very high in fairness, a very good league to go and watch. that being said Wednesday are in the relegation zone so are nearly a league one side!
Laws took them from being play-off contenders to relegation favourites in the space of 5 weeks and has now somehow landed himself a Premier League job - crazy!

In fairness Laws did a good job in keeping Wednesday in the championship the last year or two maybe the reason why he got the Burnley job.

that's true Clash, yeah. He was a great manager for Wednesday, just seemed to lose it a bit towards the end.

With any luck they won't go down. And yes it would be the Division that contains the team that beat the Premier League champions a fortnight ago - the same team that drew with Wycombe last Saturday!

Who is this team you speak of? Heard they were once the top team in England and then it all fell apart.

1-1 with Stoke today - a poor result for Stoke given the circumstances - how that man hasnt been booted out of a job i dont know - with management skills like his he could easily turn his hand to banking

Anyone see his post-match interview? He said that if he "decides to stay" then it will be for the fans or something to that effect. He's obviously reviewing his position.
