First Signs of Madness breakthrough!
Thanks to the wonders of the internet scientists in the University of Berkeley have made a huge breakthrough in identifying and isolating the first signs of madness.
Chief Researcher C. Niall Dementia explained. ‘The wonder of the internet is that it brings cases to us. We can assess behavioural patterns, mood swings and other tell tale signs of madness through poster’s ramblings. We have a special filter (informally we call it the BS Sniffer) which alerts us to possible cases worldwide. Just this afternoon we had a huge surge of activity from the .IE domain. The filter basically went mad! So we zoned in on the area of demented activity and were able to immediately isolate numerous cases of weird and wonderful ramblings on one simple internet forum. Further research revealed that all these tell tale signs were the ‘work’ of one individual.’
‘What we can do now is alert the relevant authorities before this person does him or herself any harm and they can intervene. Usually a strait jacket is used and with the consent of that person’s guardian we can take them here to the university and carry out all sorts of tests – such as running 10,000 volts of electricity through their cerebral region if we can find one. We also use the iced baths method of therapy and cryogenics. Basically we are trying to establish what makes the person thick.’
