The GAATipsters inaugural end of the years awards ceremony mid-term preview thread
The paparazzi will be out in force as the good and the great from Gaatipster land walk down the red carpet at the first ever GT awards ceromony probably to be held in some pub in Drumshambo. Speculation is rife at the midway point as to the likely victors in the various categories.
Poster of the year
No outstanding candidate yet for this although Samipremiers recent retort to mossbags for spending too much time on the internet has seen him shoot up in the betting for this
Ulster poster of the year
Their was outrage when the original awards list was announced with no special category for our northern friends who rightly pointed out that they had their own unique style of posting that the rest of us simply couldn't understand. Very strong field here with Bright oak and Patruiqe to the fore.
Mod/Admin of the year
Perhaps the weakest of the categories with a rather dull looking list of has-beens and wannabe's. Best use the time time it takes to give out this award to go for a sneaky pint at the bar.
Ranter of the year
Good field here with RMD in a very strong position altough Jim Wexford and bumpernut are hot on his heels.
Non-male poster of the year
Shinners, Niamh, Lino are all still trailing in the wake of two certain Mayo ladies who once roamed the board like the giants of GT that they were. Gone, but not missed
Wise poster of the year
Straight shoot out here between Thomas Clarke and Boxtyeater. If Boxty can maintain his discipline and go easy on the drunken posts he might just edge this one. Clash of the ash is a shoe in for this one in the years to come
Idiot of the year
Complete free for all here with so many in the running that its practically impossible to pick just one although its fair to say that anyone who thinks Joe Canning is merely average would be right to the fore
County of the year
To acknowledge which county has contributed most to the board. Sligo and Galway being the only two realistic possibilities in this field
Feud of the year
Jayo v Ulster a long odds on certainty here
Other categories
Post of the year, Again boxty or Thomas Clarke will be hard bet
Quote of the year, Jayo might swing this with a sympathy vote
Outstanding contribution in the field of GT
Rich is long odds on here although Sami, Jayo and loyal if he ever gets that quiz finished are also in with a shout
OCD of the year
Close between loyal and his obsession and Jayo and his 'alledged' agenda against Ulster
Thread of the year
Connacht Final thread will be hard bet
So the scene is set, the world will be glued to their laptops for this one. Still an awful lot of time for everything to change, Any more possible awards feel free to add here.

Dublinmeath should be a strong contender for ranter of the year...
