don't think them boys know how to read. Waste of a stamp.
Lock the gates kick the feckers out.
standard fee for a ground is €250 plus expenses for officals.
for secondary comps you are entitled to 5% of the gate (which you never get).
Is this match telivised if so Sligo county board will receive €40-€50k- this may be the reason the shafted there clubs to get the tv money

I'd say Sligo was chosen as it was on in Castlebar last time they both met in the championship so an agreement might have been made to have it closer to Donegal next time they meet.

Galway to win this, although they will need to watch Murphy who is a serious talent.
Galway on their day could beat any side left in the competition, especially as Tyrone have not exactly been exerted by Armagh, Derry of Antrim.

I'd expect Galway to win this just about - all depends how quickly they put last Sunday behind them. Donegal on the other hand are comming in on the crest of a wave and brimming with confidence - should be an interesting contest.
Galway will always concede plenty such is their defence but they do have guys capable of destroying you given time and space - the likes of Lacey and the Mc Gees will have their hands full this weekend but they are more than capable of dealing with the threat posed by Joyce Armstrong and Meehan.
It will be a test of the mentality of the Galway team to see if they can lift themselves out of the doldrums in time for battle with the boys from Donegal.

McGee laments loss of key duo
Donegal defender Eamon McGee has admitted that the axing of Neil Gallagher and Ciaran Bonner has had a "negative effect" on the squad. Manager John Joe Doherty dropped the Glenswilly duo for disciplinary reasons earlier this month, and even after last Saturday's dramatic extra-time victory over a fancied Derry side, McGee was lamenting their loss.
"It has a negative effect on the squad if you are to be honest about it," he told the Irish News. "It's kind of frustrating more than anything when two of your better footballers are sitting outside the wire." McGee had particular sympathy for former captain Gallagher, who was injured at the time he was disciplined for breaching an alcohol ban.
"Big Neil would be a good friend of mine. He was up at the Derry game
watching it, but you would rather be sharing those moments with your
mates. "There is not a lot you can do about it, but to answer the question, it probably does have a negative effect."
The 25-year-old is looking forward to squaring up to Galway in Saturday's
All-Ireland football fourth round qualifier at Markievicz Park, adding:
"We will be underdogs again and that will suit us.
"Galway will go out and play football. They will not try to stop you. They will just try to outscore you.

Sounds to me like all is not well in Donegal. Would expect a wounded Galway to put them to the sword with the minimum of fuss on Saturday

Galway (SF v Donegal): A Faherty; K
Fitzgerald, F Hanley, D Burke (captain); G Bradshaw, D Blake, D Meehan;
J Bergin, N Coleman; S Armstrong, P Joyce, P Conroy; M Clancy, M
Meehan, N Joyce.
Common sence at last from Sammon, Fitzys back with Coyne paying the price for his poor form. Would still prefer Mullahy to Deccie Meehan but Sammon doesn't seem to rate him.
Armstrong must be left up front, allow Clancy to roam if required, much more solid look to this team than the last day

Things may be in a bit of turmoil in Donegal but what must be the state of affairs in Derry when they couldn't beat a team as mentally brittle as these lot?
Galway to pull away by 6-10 with a vintage performance.

Whatever do you mean Boxty? The answer is a simple one, we didn't have any internal issues in Derry the week leading up to the game, therefore letting our county team concentrate fully on the game (which is not best practice for Derry) and Donegal won.
If we had've had a few rows between the county board and some of the clubs then we would have won easily, simple!!

Expect a 'vintage performance' indeed this Satursay Boxty. Galway were so concerned about their own percieved weakness's in the Connacht final that they completely forgot to play to their strengths. When they eventually did they rattled off 1-4 in 5 minutes. Expect a total reversal against these Donegal lunatics. Galway by 10

Re: Galway V Donegal AI Qualifiers Round 4 July 25th 2009 Markievicz Park Sligo 5pm
I have a feeling Donegal might edge this.
I thought that Galway looked very poor against Mayo, and the 1 point loss flattered them in the end. I also don't think the impact of losing a provincial final the previous weekend can be under-estimated.
Donegal on the other hand appeared to be going nowhere then, a couple of handy draws later, shock Derry and they are now a game away from Croke Park. They will need big games from Murphy & McFadden, but I really wouldnt be surprised to see them produce another upset.

Re: Galway V Donegal AI Qualifiers Round 4 July 25th 2009 Markievicz Park Sligo 5pm
Galway did indeed 'look poor' against Mayo at times. Players were playing out of position, their was a lot of aimless ball and soft giving away of possession and most of the forwards were mis-firing. As well as that Hanley mady 2 mistakes and was punished both times with goals. That they could do all this and still only go down by an opportunistic last second point says an awful lot and I would be shocked if they dont come away with from Markievicz park with a comfortable victory, having set their Connacht Final wrongs to right.
Sammon is under serious pressure not to repeat the mistakes he made in Salthill. When Coyne(who was lucky to start the game) got injured on 20 mins instead of just bringing Fitzy in for a straight swap he took Bradshaw back into the corner, moved Sice back to the wing and Deccie Meehan into centre half back, at the same time bringimg Armstrong deep into his own half! Wtf was Sammon thinking, unless he wasn't too bothered about winning the game which may indeed have been the case![Wink](https://2img.net/i/fa/i/smiles/icon_wink.gif)

A poor game, not helped nor taken from by dreadful refeering. How does a referee, after consultation, make the calls Rory Hickey made.
Bergin: a straight red (boot) Joyce: a straight red (very dangerous tackle).
Donegal's day, they had the better footballers, wanted it more and didn't over-indulge in the "lazy tackle" syndrome that typified Galway's attitude today.
Gutted for the West......![Crying or Very sad](https://2img.net/i/fa/i/smiles/icon_cry.gif)
