Best GAA forum?
I feel ive been here so long and instead of talking ive just been observing all the topics so now it would be best if i actually said something
What GAA forum does every1 like best and hate worst?
To me HS is dying a slow and painful death at the moment, maybe we should quicken the process and tell the Taliban that the americans and brits use it to end its missery lol.

Re: Best GAA forum?
I would say Hogan Stand is best.
Then AFR.
This is OK, too many WUMs though.

Re: Best GAA forum?
An Fear Rua is good and largely WUM free.
Hogan Stand has gone unbelievably bad. There is no GAA chat there at all - it is all insults and wumming. A few people have taken it over and really its a disgrace. There have been posts there in the last two days that were insulting, nonGAA and in downright bad taste not to mention legally dangerous and they were published. Most of the good posters have gone - would love to know where.

Re: Best GAA forum?
They all have their positives and negatives.
gaaboard
Pos: Good site. Level of GAA knowledge the highest of all the sites.
Neg: Way too serious though and quite cliquey. Too many Ulster posters too. Doesn't represent the whole country.
AFR
Pos: Don't really know much about it.
Neg: M first impression was that it was full of two pint republicans. Seems to be a disproportionate number of munster posters there too.
HS
Pos: Great site for GAA news and info and attracts a massive amount of users.
Neg: Discussion forum is poorly run though. WUM's seem to be encouraged and there is virtually no effort made to change it image from the "full of children fighting" one that it has at the moment. The lack of real-time posting is also a bit of a draw back.
Gaainfo
Pos: Brilliant site for GAA stats.
Neg: The chat aspect is non-existent.
GAATipster
Pos: Most user-friendly of the sites. Leads the way in terms of innovative features (videos, live games, quizzes) and of course has the GAATipster competitions.
Neg: Very small user base so far. Lack of serious GAA debate. Hard to find.

Re: Best GAA forum?
An Fear Rua is the home of the WUM. Some of ye would be right at him there. Although its kind of the intelligent WUM that resides there. Its also worth pointing out that the two main sites - HS and AFR - are based in County Meath.

Hence their huge anti-Dublin bias .....

Re: Best GAA forum?
while i would not use AFR much at all i know some people who do and they quiet like it but would agree it is not really a GAA site more of a discussion site on everything. Hs is Awful at the moment a far cry from what it used to be. was never on the others but i find Tipster to be very good, good debate bit of slagging which goes a bit far depending on the area you are slagging ( geographical area i mean!!) but otherwise its very good though the one big draw back is there idnt enough posting done on here but equaly there is not as much sh**e talked beause of the lw number of posts!!
best for me is GAATIPSTER

Aye mossbags, as Loyal says I'm not sure we'll hear a peep out of them. I take it you have to be logged in to watch the streams so that would be the sole purpose of registering by the looks of it. Ah sure we might get some craic out of them yet!

Re: Best GAA forum?
GAA Points are coming back. If you dont have a certain amount of points each week then you dont get to watch the matches. However games are not going to be available all the time unfortunately.
Re: Best GAA forum?
Interesting Admin, that's one way of using the points alright and encouraging people to post.
The streams are a very good idea even if you can only have them sometimes, twas the only way I could see Antrim and Donegal today! (only deferred coverage on BBC)

Re: Best GAA forum?
It certainly would be. The reason we can get streams from sites is because our site is registered on a .ie proxy but the servers are world wide and that why people can watch games.
Only problem is, is that I am not available on Sundays so someone is going to have to learn how to do it.

AFR banned all its best posters after the great photo-bucket scandal and they've moved on to bigger and better things while AFR lurches from one new low to the next. A bunch of nat-heads who take themselves way too seriously and sprout much but know very little. Similar enough to what happened to HS only most of the better posted just got tired with the incessant tedium and wumming and jumped ship.

Re: Best GAA forum?
An Fear Rua isn't that bad but they would want to sort out the forum as all topics get lumped into the one section regardless of whether they belong there.
Generally think that websites dedicated to one county are the best.
