Great win for Down over my native Antrim in the minor ulster final 18 points to 1-12 makes for good reading for Down fans.

Only Shame now is the year ulster have two decent minor teams one must exit the championship, where as the opposite happens in munster and leinster, surely these boys are entitle to another crack at the whip? Maybe make a qualifier series where the beaten teams beaten up to provincial semi final stage go into an open draw, with four teams coming out of it with winners playing again, galway down wexford and munster loser? give home advantage to the already qualified home team.

Surely the format at senior needs some reflection in lower tiers and on things for certain after today the cries for antrim to enter leinster at minor are over.

I was told 1994 last night! Didnt realise it was as long, need to check that out though, although derry have won a few down the years.
