Is it possible that the above poll be changed to "Who do you want to win the six nations"? I was the one voted for Italy BTW. Whoever were the nine people who voted for Ireland need their head examining.

That day in Pearse park a few years back, remember the heat? Liamo wore no sunscreen, not even a cap! Holymoly forgot where the car was parked, we walked, for 2 hours! I couldnt lie face down for 2 weeks!!!!!!

Had a great day that day - despite the result. Was made listen to "The Rare Ould Times" the whole way from Dublin. He stood with his brothers, I stood with mine. Both of us burnt to crisps. We went for pints afterwards and had great craic with Longford and Dublin fans alike. The 2 sets of fans just really seem to get along well.

6 Nations - Page 2 Empty Irelands Call

Post  bald eagle Sun Feb 15, 2009 2:35 pm

Irelands Call must be the worst "Anthem" in the 6 Nations (with the exception of the English one).

What do the rest of you think?

Awful game.

Ireland were shaken after Masi clotheslined Kearney, BOD didnt do much to help steady the team. Took us a good 15 minutes to take a hold of the game with the Tommy Bowe try although it was gifted to us.

Dont have a clue what Declan Kidney is playing at by leaving D'Arcy on the bench and playing Paddy Wallace, he is awful. Wallace only plays well when OGara is injured. Wallace is the O'shea of Rugby.

As for O'gara being sent off, like the commentator said, there was not much contact but he tackled him all the same. Italy tried to be intimidating throughout the game it worked but the skill Ireland had prevailed and Italy didnt have an answer, they retreated and just played defensively throughout the second half.

Hopefully Ireland will get their act together for the England match, they are the one team I do not want Ireland to lose to.

Imagine this nonsense was shown instead of Ireland's greatest day's racing . What a joke, to think I am paying my television licence to watch this and then have to pay AtTheRaces on top of that to watch The Hennessy Cognac Gold Cup plus two other Grade One races. Shower of ****** up there in Donnybrook. I have e-mailed RTE venting my anger. I pity the people who were forced to watch the rugby as opposed to a great day of racing.

Who in Gods name voted Italy? Ireland showed pure pride, guts and determination in the Jersey the day, it'l be between them and the Welsh I would say. Main Factor of Wales/ireland game is venue swaying in ireland Favour...but when in rome!! (literally judging on today!)

I actually like the song you know, Phil Coulter one of our own and all! rabbit But it doesn't get a look in compared to The nation Anthem.

I couldn't believe it when they didn't play the national anthem. It should be the other way around play the National Anthem away and play both at home.

due to the stupidity that is plotical corectness the IRFU decided not to offend the Ulster players that the rubgy team needed their own athem. The national Athem is now only played at games the Irsh president is at.

I worked with a guy who used to play for Ulster and Ireland A team and he perfered the National athem to Irelands call.

I must admit that I like Irelands call as a song

So Ireland are the only possible Grand Slam champs now, come on lads!

Some end to that match, the intensity of it was unreal. The scoreline actually flattered Wales in my opinion, France were much the better team over the course of the game and physically immense. Some of the hits from both sides were serious. All up to the boys in green now then.

Yep - actually dying for it.

Wales could have (and possibly should have) sneaked an undeserved win tonight only for Gavin attempting the impossible. Johnnos Bull repelled him last week but he didn't learn the lesson!

I expect a tough game but given our Munster lads capabilites to repel English raiders I expect us to win!! Don't f*** up my weekend lads!

cheers

Yeah messing aside, that's good odds. Had €20 on him at 9-1 against Italy and he didn't let me down! It's 10-1 on PP but 12-1 is at betfair. Still the shortest odds though for try-scorer. Reckon it might be a forward who gets the first tomorrow but I'll throw a wee bit on Bowe after him winning it for me a couple of weeks ago!
