Laois new Manager
Pat Roe is the front runner but there is massive specualtion the Mick O Dwyer is coming back to Laois, This would be a shocking thing to happen to Laois GAA and I cant make sense of it. Other candidates currently are Paul Caffery, Sean Boylan, Luke Dempsey, Pete McGrath

Re: Laois new Manager
Surely Micko wouldn't come back GAAG? Or should I say, surely the Laois county board wouldn't go down that road again?

Whatever about Micko, I'm not sure how Sean Boylan's name found its way into the hat.

Re: Laois new Manager
Where do they keep this hat? Is it the same hat that's being used up in Donegal? Surely the GAA could take some of the money from the coffers and buy a second hat?

Re: Laois new Manager
dempsey was a good manager a great coach i done some coaching courses with him he is a very nice bloke and only ever had laois football at heart , was a tad unlucky he should have waited a couple more years , as for the new manager they should look inside their county and only outside for a selector to give a different view

Shouldn't Declan O'Loughlin be the automatic candidate here then. Part of the O'Dwyer scheme of things if I recall correctly and a Laois man through and through. Owning the hotel in Portlaoise will make him a shoe-in........

Agree was at a few semiars with him in croker and also when doing the level 1 course he was a tutor on that.
Was on the opposite line to him on a few occasions when we played Laois in underage football. He won't leave it, he will be back over development squads again

Back to Declan O'Loughlin for a minute. Wouldn't he be following in a noble line of hoteliers and hostelty owners who were also team managers.
Brian McEniff, Micko, Liam Griffin, Paddy Cullen and Tommy Carr spring to mind...

Yes he is and they badly need him, the club is severly struggling with numbers. Shows he is willing to put in some serious work. Fair play to him.

Sean Dempsey...as trainer? Wouldn't train a pig to be dirty... Isn't there some connection there with his brother Mick..Didn't Michael train those boys to a Leinster club about 10 years ago, or am I mixing the thing up with Bobby Millar??
