Re: All Ireland Qualifiers 2014
Drawing Down away is a huge boost to Leitrim. The sight of opponents in the Fenagh colours will have a galvanising effect on our troops. It has that effect on all players within the county when opposing Fenagh at any rate, as history has shown us.
Feck it to hell, the tie above us was to some extent winnable. We wouldn't have feared Meath in Navan....

Bit of a blow for Derry with Cailean O'Boyle fooking off to the states for the summer! Doesn't smell like team spirit at all!! [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]

Re: All Ireland Qualifiers 2014
It's crazy to see that a number of sides exited the Championship before Cork & Kerry kicked a ball in anger! Baffling that this is still thought of as the best way to run a Championship!

Re: All Ireland Qualifiers 2014
Well Bald Eagle, the Championship is actually made up of four provincial championships and an All-Ireland series and I would think this is the best way to run them all and have an All-Ireland at the end of it.
You are also talking about a few hours not a couple of weeks, hardly worth arguing over that.
Also any alternative would probably involve making the championship into some sort of symmetrical form. I would be totally and 100% against this:
1. It would really shorten the championship calender and also significantly reduce the number of championship weekends
2. I would miss out on several important games as would most the country while they attend their own counties' games
3. I would never like to see a situation where the provincial championships are removed or even undermined by being moved away from their summer time slot
As regards Round 1A of the qualifiers, no surprise to see 3 Division 4 teams already out: London, Offaly and Fermanagh. It is a surprise to see Derry gone at this early stage even if they have form for this kind of performance.

Don't mind me Loyal, I'm just peeved that Kilkenny footballers were playing Championship football for longer than Derry!

Re: All Ireland Qualifiers 2014
A side round 3
Sligo v Limerick
Laois v Tipp
Connacht loser and Cork will face the two winners in round 4
Its looking like Cork v Mayo, Galway v Kerry All Ireland quarter finals.
B side round 2
Cavan v Roscommon
Down v Kildare
Tyrone v Armagh
Carlow v Clare
Round 3 the fours winners play off to it make two.
Leinster and Ulster loser will face the two winners in round 4
Two quarter finals harder to pick on this side. Dublin should get there then any 3 from Tyrone,Meath,Monaghan,Donegal,Kildare,Down or maybe the winner of Cavan v Roscommon will spring a surprise.
Ridiculous lopsided qualifiers this summer no doubt they will be changed again for next year.

Thanks for explaining that so Dublin and Meath can meet again
It looks like a Dublin-Kerry final at the moment its like the 70s all over again only the Dubs will have the upper hand this time
Galway might be a dark horse yet
