LHSF Wexford v Kilkenny
Fennellys out but Shefflin, Walsh,Larkin should all be back for KK. They won't be for messing around after the League Final.
Wexford who'll no doubt be spurred by a home support juiced up on their U-21 heroics last night, have the raw talent to put it up to the Cats and will hopefully remain competitive but there's only gonna be one winner here

Kilkenny are but a shadow of the team they were back a few years ago. The Wexicans, fed on strawberries and cream, will give them their bellies full of it.

All thats happened to KK is that the myth of their reserves being the 2nd best team in the land has been proven to be the BS it always was. Their A team is sill quite clearly an exceptional side and their coming together now for the first time since Shefflins injury and should pulverize Wexford.

Kilkenny team:
1. David Herity
2. Paul Murphy
3. Noel Hickey
4. Jackie Tyrell
5. Paddy Hogan
6. Brian Hogan
7. JJ Delaney
8. Michael Fennelly
9. Michael Rice
10. TJ Reid
11. Richie Power
12. Eoin Larkin
13. Colin Fennelly
14. Henry Shefflin
15. Richie Hogan
7 changes from the All Ireland Final last year. 4 changes from the league and many positional aswel.I think Henry will start at centre with Richie in full. That is a very good team with a little weakness in the full back line.

That team looks very weak to me...The wexicans have a great chance to topple the cats..
Dublin would beat that team pulling up..

No i base that on the Kilkenny team selected for this game.....The worst looking Kilkenny line up i have seen since the mid 90s...A few more hours will tell

Based on the fact that Waterford's 5 to 9 will have far too much physically for limerick's 8-12....Waterford won't let Limerick pour runners through the middle like Clare did in the league final and the fact that Brian Geary looked past it in 2009 and has little hurling done this year while Damien Reale is also struggling for form, not to mention a very limited half forward line and a very light full forward line.....The wet day will also suit Waterford
Kilkenny have far too much class for Wexford and will be out to show that the league final was a blip

Re: LHSF Wexford v Kilkenny
Kilkenny are far from finished, granted Wexford are poor but it will take a very good side to beat them this year- from their point of view they will be delighted to see Power, Reid, Rice and Fennelly showing plenty of leadership while the likes of Shefflin & Larkin ease themselves back into form ....Paul Murphy got better the longer the game went on and was more than able for the physicality of Banville and should keep his place....Their full backline looked shaky thoughout though and Noel Hickey will surely lose his place when Walsh and Dalton are available again.....
They will beat Dublin or Galway with a bit to spare in the leinster final

Jackie Tyrell should definitely be dropped. Cats were in 2nd gear the whole way through the match.

Puke the Wexicans were very disappointing tonight their first touch was rubbish...Dublin/Galway will be more than a handful for that Kilkenny side..The Cats forward line played well
But the back 6 still look suspect..Goalkeeper done well didn't expect that..Hogan was good and poor..power didn't to much
Sheff is realiable with frees something they lacked from power /hogan when he was injured..

Re: LHSF Wexford v Kilkenny
Considering their Liam win (96?) Wexford hurling is regressing hugely. Even with Dorans and Jacobs on the team they are falling way behind - there doesn't seem to have been a wave of hurlers off that famous victory. Offaly too are having it tough but they have punched way above their weight in recent times. Its a pity that there is 'enmity' between codes in counties but it is understandable in those that don't have the numbers that Dublin, Cork etc have.
A few years back you might have backed Wexican hurlers to beat the Cats at home but laughed if someone suggested their footballers would trounce Westmeath in football. Not good for hurling though.
Cats look alright to me and anyone who suggests they are finished is an idiot!

O'Grady is a very shrewd operator. You'd think under him, they'd be capable of pulling off a shock.
Waterford have a lot of debutants and Richie Foley is a loss. Seemingly he was very good in the League.
