In the "civilised" section, I'm looking across the lake, to just under John McGahern's former abode, at a gimp whose living in a Transit van on the lake shore for the last 2 years. He has eel lines out nightly, there's not a rabbit within a mile safe with what snares the hoor has set, pheasants are as scarce as corncrakes, remains incommunicado with all, has a bollock naked swim daily as he checks the eel lines and buys a fair lock of drink in town on a Friday.

He's not on my patch, nor won't be, if I catch the coont, but who's subsiding this "alternative" lifestyle??
