Re: Tips/Predictions/Bets
Coolmore destroy hundreds of horses every year that they don't want going to market because they could damage their reputation. Also with the recession horse trainers in Ireland have been left with abondoned horses by their owners because their owners can't afford to keep them.
Anyway where do ya think glue comes form and soap.

RIP.
A brilliant horse who in another era would have notched up at least one Gold Cup. The big races next year will fell a little empty next year without him around.

Re: Tips/Predictions/Bets
Right Loyal, any tips for irish national? Do you think himilayan trail or chelsea harbour could be worth a bet. Himilayan Trail was expected to run a big race in english national, early faller so that run wouldnt have taken too much out of him.

Re: Tips/Predictions/Bets
The heavens will need to open from now until Monday for Chelsea Harbour to have a chance and even at that, I wouldn't consider him after what he did to Reveillez at Aintree.
Himalayan Trail is a hard horse to figure out. I definitely wouldn't be laying him but I culdn't back him either.
For me, Rare Bob is the bet. I followed him all season and this is the sort of trip he wants. He is an out and out galloper and I was fuming when Dessie decided not to take to Cheltenham for either the RSA or the four miler. And for whatever reason, Dessie kept persisting with him over two and a half miles in Grade Ones when it was clear he needed further. Also the way he was rode in them races was silly, Flood will want to be very handy on him and possibly gallop the finish out of his rivals on Monday. But the decision not to take him to Cheltenham could be justified in a race novices do well in.

Drumconvis had a hard race at Cheltenham, Sam, and the ground is a worry.
Emma Jane will run a massive race but the handicapper may just have her after her win in the Leinster National. The drying ground and longer trip will ensure she's there or thereabouts though.
Rare Bob for me. I will be backing each way but will be having a bit on him. Hopefully, he won't disappoint.

Best of luck to Emma Jane and the ten from all us in the parish of Tintern-thats about as close as I'll get to betting as well.

RIP Drumconvis
RIP Wichita Lineman
Two real good young horses. The field size for the National needs to be reduced in my professional opinion. These deaths should not have happened - they aren't good for the sport.

What happened Loyal? How did they die?

Re: Tips/Predictions/Bets
Broken legs. I knew Drumconvis was gone when he fell. Right in front of the stands too. Not a pretty sight.
The fences at Fairyhouse are quite narrow. 30 runner races like that do not comply with safety regulations in my opinion.
Widen the fences or reduce the field size.

Re: Tips/Predictions/Bets
Actually Drumconvis broke a shoulder.
Is not official what killed Wichita Lineman but I watched the race again and its possible another horse stood on its head. Either that or it broke its back or neck. Painful to watch, the horse summersaulted in the air probably after with pain.

I knew tha Drumconvis was a gonner as he couldn't get up after the fall he had, i thought it was a broken leg when it happened, very sad indeed.
Really gutted about Lineman, fabulous horse and as Loyal says this just shouldn't have happened at all.
Something does need to be done in order to stop horse deaths in big races being the headlines. I love my racing, and all this bad press could turn people away from it.

Re: Tips/Predictions/Bets
few each way bets for today, got a tip for Pebble Reach in 6.25 at Tramore.
Gracies Gift should be in with a good shout in 4.20 at wolverhampton
Strategic Knight in 4.40 at Ponterfract. Always weary of a horse who has been out a few days ago and run in at back of field. To me it was a warm up run last week, get a bit of weight off and now with a good jockey ready to rock at a big price
