Derry vs Kildare
Derry @ 4/5 has to be a gift. Mighty mighty Kildare who needed a replay to get past Antrim and then seen off Leitrim at Newbridge travelling to the fortress that is Celtic Park against a rejuvented Derry side. Have the Lilywhites a chance? Don't think so, Derry quietly sneaking through the qualifiers picking off the weaker sides, as they go, reminiscent of Meath last year. Cassidy looks to have turned a corner with this Derry team. The summer is early yet for Oakys.

I tend to agree with you. I think Derry have a really good chance with this one. Kildare are struggling to be consistent and Derry are due a good performance. Derry by 4!

4/5 good odds alright. Might have a peck. More on Kildare's inconsistency than Derry's brilliance.

The draw is 15/2. Might have a little wager.

I actually think Kildare will sneak this, could really go either way though.

Re: Derry vs Kildare
I'm pretty bullish about this one, i think we'll have a little more in the tank than Kildare and the fact it's in Derry will make it a tougher task for the lillys.
Yes we have our problems but the Derry camp seems more united since "do you know who i am" left, and the result against Westmeath is a bigger win than most people think as we beat them with 14 men after Joe Divers (harsh) sending off. Yes there may be the McGeeney factor in Kildare but for me the jurys still out on him.
Derry by 7 for me in a tasty game and not one for the purists, although i hope it is an entertaining match.

Well such a bunch of wasters.
Kilet, Bradley, Lynch, tossers. Embarrassing performances from three excuses of footballers. And I thought Mayo were bad.
How did they fool me? Won't con me again, Derry is nothing but a county of wasters.

They are tossers. And hopefully, every Derry person witnessed that shambles there tonight lets them know as much.

It started when the GPA and the GAA were in a dispute and has continued ever since.

Re: Derry vs Kildare
i've seen some bad Derry performances but this must rank up there as one of the worst. There was no fight in them at all they didnt want to know, things have rarely been good in the Derry camp but they must be at an all time low at present. Many will look to blame Cassidy but there are more people that need to look hard at themselves, Cassidy can only do so much the players have to meet him half way.
That said Kildare played some fantastic football today and their ability to keep possession of Derry (though it wasnt hard) was a big factor. They are a strong side with some great individuals and they play as a team and work hard for each other. Not too many teams will want to meet them.

A bit like the British media there Loyal, over-reaction of the highest order with personal attacks that are totally unwarranted!
I said i was bullish before the game, well that's what i get for being bullish! All you people who keep putting Derry in you top 10's, now will you stop? Derry are no-where near a top 10 team and haven't been for some time!
I honestly don't know what happened, it was the most painful 60 minutes i have ever watched (the first 10 were alright), the players looked like they lost interest and honestly looked like they couldn't give a toss. I know they are a young side but to get hammered like that is something unreal for me to get to grips with, every time i wore the Oak Leaf in anger i gave it my heart and soul, even if we were getting beaten by a shitload (and as a Derry hurler it happened quite a lot).
Really really disappointed, hopefully the Derry Co Board will hold an inquiry into the season and keep DC on. He is not to blame, the boys on the pitch are as they just gave up. Unreal!

The driver for today's non trip to Dublin is a Derry man by birth.
He said it was the worst he ever saw.
But let's face it, Ulster teams have been stuggling for 5 years, only Tyrone doing anything, and maybe Monaghan this year.

BE, do you think this will now see the elder Bradley brought in as manager and following that, the unprecedented return of the (prodigal)son? Not that it would be the best outcome mind you..

I really hope not, Baker isn't held in the highest regard in Derry and i feel he would do more damage than good. The Derry Co Board are renouned for not sticking with their men so it wouldn't surprise me at all but i really hope not!
I think Derry need to stick with DC as he is looking forward and has made sweeping changes to the look of the Derry team, one of then unplanned right enough but bringing in Baker Sr would take Derry back 5 years at least.
