Bradley wiggins
Looks like after the heartbreak in sw19 that middle England may have a new hero on the horizon. One who will join the Autumn squad of late emerging Heros Like linford and dame Kelly.
Firstly I will acknowledge bradleys success at track and road TT level but blistering favourite to take the tour is a huge step forward.
As someone who does a. Bit of leisure cycling and struggles to get an average kph into the 28/29 mark today's TT was truly awesome . BW averaged close to 50 kph which just about matches my best downhill. Thats by the bye but his margin over Cadel Evans was astonishing. I've seen the holier than thou press conference before the most astonishing time trial seen in manys a year
Boomoes had him as favourite to start
. Now they are close to paying out,
As someone who has watched every tour since the hinault was in short pants
What's the story? L2tr feedback welcome here

Yer' a gas man OMAR.
Bradley Wiggins FFS. I thought when I saw the thread he was some geezer from Coronation St. that had been a victim of disturbances in the Phoenix Park on Saturday night.....
The bicycle legend that was Bocerty won't like this.....

Re: Bradley wiggins
The inference in your post is very unfair Omar - dramatic improvements are not unheard of in cycling (Wiggins' team-mate Chris Froome being a prime example! ).

Indeed I stand humbled
The liberal, objective and unjingoistic journal that is the DT
has adresssed all my ponderings

Re: Bradley wiggins
Shame on you indeed, Omar. The Daily Telegraph have explained the improvement, saying that it was all down to a coach giving him a morale boost. The words from which, no doubt, Bradley has passed on to Froome.
Nothing to see here....

Indeed
Froomes challenge ahead will be to keeP remembering he is the domestique and to keep slowing down to ensure he finishes second

Bit like in 1996 , when Jan Ullrich was domestique to Bjarne Riis, and basically let Riis win the tour. 2 superhuman efforts that year, out of nowhere. Strikingly similar.

100km of time trial and no Schleck/Contador. Not exactly a climber's Tour is it?
Disappointing to see Frank Schleck doing so poorly, too much time trialling and all not well at Team Radioshack.

Evasive tactics here from Loyal. Come on man, address the issue at hand.

Another good day for team sky.
On the first HC day. Foomes brake pads the only major casualty of the day
Team Sky doctor Geert Leinders getting a few column inches.

The time trialists like Martin, Cancellaro and Evans don't seem to be making much fist of it either

Another good day for team sky as Evans loses time on final climb.
Froome able to deal with all challengers. For a while looked like he was going to show the extra few gears he has found that wiggins does not yet have but team orders/radio arrested that threat.

Please don't be spreading gossip. He has left the race of his own accord (for "transparency" reasons). The drug is not even prohibited. "Kicked out"

Indeed, he left for 'transparency reasons'....after the UCI asked his team to withdraw him for failing a drugs test. You'll have to forgive me for not giving a top cyclist the benefit of the doubt on this one

Anyone following the cycling in Italy ? Tierrano adriatico if you pardon my French.
Brutal stuff today at Muro di sant something. Froome (who free wheeled up the alps in July) lost his lead, andy schlek and Cav decided walking was easier. Sagan won the stage, seventh was one A contador who seems to have overcome his red mea allergy
